I have converted PGPSM in iim lucknow what would be my chances for PGP Management course and PGP ABM? Will the merit list differ for these 3

Sreetama Datta 30th Apr, 2018

Hi Navya! Congratulations on the convert! The final admission result for all 3 programmes has been announced by IIM Lucknow. If you can see that you have converted PGPSM, but no mention has been made about PGP and PGP-ABM, that refers that you have not been able to convert the other 2 programmes.

My son was shortlisted in IIM Lucknow (Sustainability management), IIM Shillong, Trichy & IIT Mumbai & Delhi. Which is best?

Amod Tripathi 14th Feb, 2018
Though IIM Lucknow is the best institute but sustainability is a niche course and you should get into it if and only if you are very much interested in a career in sustainability management.

From the others IIT Bombay is better than IIT Delhi better than IIM Trichy. If you are not sure about your specialisation post MBA you should opt for a general management programme.

91.35 percentile va/di/qa 74/86/96 10/12/grad/post grad 70/51/71/65. Sc category . What is my chance to get calls from iim l i and new iims?

Akshay Kadam 12th Jan, 2018

Congratulations on your CAT score!!

With 91.35 percentile you will definitely get calls from all ultra new IIMs like IIM Sambalpur, IIM Nagpur, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Bodhgaya etc. and also from new IIMs like IIM Trichy, IIM Udaipur, IIM Rohtak, IIM Kashipur etc. and also from old IIMs like IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode and IIm Shillong. You might not be getting calls from IIM Indore because it is one of the few colleges which give more weightage to academic records even more than the CAT marks.

Along with this if you have applied in FMS and JBIMS Mumbai then you will definitely get calls from these colleges. As in FMS 60% weightage is given to CAT marks so you have a pretty good chance of getting selected in one of the best B-school with the best ROI.

You can also look forward to applying in all IIT's like IIT Bombay, Kanpur, Delhi, Kharagpur and Madras. If you are an engineer then you will get calls from all IITs, if not then you will only get calls from IIT Delhi and IIT Madras.

Along with CAT score, you also have a good academic profile which will enhance the probability of getting calls from colleges mentioned above. Make sure you apply to private colleges before the application deadline and start preparing for second round of WSAT and interview.

Sir I have cat mock test conducted by iim Lucknow..that the pattern exists in that manner only..or it will be more critical than this??

Akshay Kadam 17th Nov, 2017
Yes the pattern of the final CAT exam will be exactly similar to the mock test conducted by IIM Lucknow. Every year IIM takes out a mock paper before the exam so as to explain the pattern of the paper this year. This way students also get to know aboutbthe changes in the pattern. You will get the same time limit and same no. of non MCQ questions in the final exam. For more information you can check out this link:

Analysis of CAT mock test by IIM Lucknow

But remember one thing that difficulty of questions will not at all be same like mock test. It can be more difficult or easy. This mock test is to hustle you aware about the pattern so you can prepare your strategy to attempt the paper. Don't Judge yourself on this mock test score. You must be already giving lots of online mock test and must be aware about you position so rely on that and try to improve your score and percentile by making changes in your strategy to attempt the paper. In this less time focus more on your strength than weakness. Make sure to brush up all your basics.

Fee for MBA

Akshay Kadam 8th Nov, 2017
Fees for IIM Lucknow is Rs. 16 Lakh for last 2017-19 batch which was increased by 15% in comparison to last batch.

This fees structure may also vary at the time of your admission.

In IIMs fees for all the category students remains to be same, there is no concession in the fees. If you will be joining such a premier institute then for fees you can easily get the loan from any bank without any hassle. While joining only all the banks give you presentation about their schemes and you can get loan at a very low interest rate.

Being the premier institute (ranked 4th in India among top b-schools) IIM Lucknow's average package is also very high which is above 18+ Lakhs per annum (IIM L doesn't disclose the exact figure). So it has a very good ROI and fees could be recovered easily.

Along with that during your 2 years of MBA you will also get numerous of scholarship opportunities. Scholarships are granted on the basis of different parameters which ranges from min 50 K(min amount can vary) to your full tuition fee payment.

Getting admission in IIM L is not easy. In order to get a call from IIM L a SC category student needs 85+ percentile with a strong academic profile. Still I will recommend you to score 90+ to increase probability of conversion.

All the best for your preparations and exams!!
