In Order to prepare for any PCM based Exam, first you have to study the basic books of Physics, chemistry and Mathematics. The basic book is NCERT. First, go through the NCERT, solve it's problem then go for some higher level books like HC Verma for Physics and others.

see candidates are eligible to apply for gate exam irrespective of their b.e stream. however in some of the institute , eligibility criteria mentions to have the specific stream in bachelors to become eligible to apply for masters course. gate cutoff for nits and iits as per stream wise
