Hi,can i get seat in iisc, banglore if u get 85.47 percentile in jee mains??

devaroon627_9555232 Student Expert 10th Jul, 2019

Hello aspirant,

Well you will not get a seat in IISc,Bangalore as because admission in IISc, Bangalore is done through JEE Advance and not JEE Main. So with your JEE Main percentile you can get a seat in NITs,IIITs or GFTIs but for IISc you need to clear JEE Advance. Now for getting a chance to clear Advance, you first need to be JEE Main qualified as per your category. Below I have provided 2019 JEE Main cutoff (percentile) category wise -

  • CRL : 89.75
  • GEN-EWS : 78.21
  • OBC-NCL : 74.31
  • SC : 54.01
  • ST : 44.33
  • PwD : 0.11

So if you have cleared the cutoff according to your category then you are JEE Main qualified and hence will be eligible to get seats in NITs,IIITs,GFTIs or if you want to seat for JEE Advance that will also happen. Now, to get seats in NITs,IIITs or GFTIs you have to go through JoSAA counselling. If you dont get a seat through JoSAA but is JEE Main qualified then you can apply for CSAB counselling to get seats in NITs,IIITs,GFTIs,SFTIs. For colleges that accept JEE Main score but doesn't participate under JoSAA , for them you have to attend their respective counselling session.

You can go through this link and checkout the details regarding JoSAA counselling : https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/josaa-counselling

Also, visit this link and check all the detailed information about CSAB counselling : https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/csab

Good Luck !!!!

I wanted to join IISc Bengaluru but I couldnt submit application in time so to apply next year this year NEET result are applicable or not?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 29th Jun, 2019
You havent mentioned which course you want to pursue in IISC. Because, NEET is the entrance examination for admission to Medical, Dental, Ayush and Veterinary Courses across India. But IISC doesnt provide any such courses. The only undergraduate programme that they have is 4 year Bachelor of Science (Research) and that doesnt require NEET score. You can check the list of courses offered at IISC at: https://www.iisc.ac.in/courses/

Why couldnt I submit my application form for IISc admission?

Vishnupriya 7th Jul, 2019

Hi Venkateshwaran,

If your marks donot meet the requirements of IISc, the application cannot be submitted. If you have all the requirements ( appropriate NEET or JEE main score and Board marks) and still face problems submitting the application, then there might be an error with the website. Try again later.

What is career chance who complete bsc from iisc? There is campus placement for bsc student please inform me

Vishnupriya 7th Jul, 2019

Hi Harsh,

IISc Bangalore is a prestigious institute and the institute gives equal importance to all the streams. As for placements, IISc encourages research works and you can also go for further studies. Both Physics and Biology have equal importance in the field of research. IISc gives good placement opportunities, but pay wouldn't be very high. You can always opt for higher education. Pursuing further studies in abroad would ensure you a safe future in terms of money.
