Hello Shivani
IISc doesn't offer Int. MSc program (or BS-MS) unlike IITs, IISERs, NISER or CBS-Mumbai. ... IISc UG program offers four year BSc(Research) program in six science streams namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Materials Science and Environmental Science
Thanks for contacting us.
Hello aspirant
IISC offering bachelor of science (research) program.
Students must qualify in any one National Level exams like neet/jee mains/ kvpy.
The program is 4 years (i.e., 8 semesters)
And 3 years you have to study combination of all subjects like physics mathematics chemistry and all. In the fourth year you are dealing with specialised subject.
Hope above information is helpful to you
Thank you
Hi
After 12 std science a student can pursue Bachelor in science ( Research ) in biology, physics, maths etc. The entry level exams to get admission into following course is KVPY, IIT JEE, NEET.
Yes definetly you can apply, but you will not get admission into IISc. IISc only picks handfull of smart students from India. To get into IISc your rank should be less than 200 i. e around 99.88 percentile.
HI LIKITH,
FIrstly, We are Glad to Know that you are an aspiring engineer who wants to join engg in IISc Bangalore.
Since you are In Grade 11 , Its the right time to think about the qualifying rank in competitive exams in order to join IISc Bangalore . first and foremost , you need to know which exam you are giving and in IISc its called BS in engg. You need to qualify JEE advanced to get Into IISc or IITs. JEE - also called as JOint Entrance Exam which is being conducted by NTA from 2019 onwards. In order to qualify main , you need to get minimum of 90 marks for general category and SC/St requires minimum of 45-50 marks to qualify for JEE advanced.
These competitive exams results and ranking is the basis of selection for IITs and IISc . For you to joi IIT you need to pass JEE advanced with minimum of 80 percentile. It is better if you get ranks within 500. With that you have more possiblity to get selected, as they prefer lesser rank students.
When FEE structure comes into picture, Well there isnt correct exact fee structure for BS engg in IISc , but generally , the fee for the Bs program includes -
Whereas for other ppl like Sc/STs FOr them a slight variation , where
Tution fee is the only one that is weaved of completely. Rest details of THe fee structure Remains same.
All The best for your JEE main and advanced. MY suggestion , IF youre a hard core aspirant for engg, then I suggest you to check out NIT Surathkal. It is one of the famous institutes acoss India for that , Just by qualifying IN JEE mains, you can get a seat In NIT .
All the very best. Prepare well in and attempt application level problems as well as GOOD LUCK on your preperations.
Good Luck ,
Hello Nending ,
Well , firstly, Glad to know that you are interested in Life sciences. Life sciences is a huge stream which has more than one inter related specifications. Life sciences in the current scenario is uplifting and there expected to be a huge growth in this stream within 5 years. Scope for life science is never ending. SO congrats on opting the challenging stream.
Well , to answer your query, Ceratinly IITs and IISc's have a seperate department amongst the other departments which is meant particularly for Life sciences. Though Not all IIT's have that facility , but the top IITs have seperate Biological sciences department where they intake Life science graduates who are commited to their subject to take up their Masters or PhD programs.
IISc Bangalore also has lot of scope for life science students in various streams. Since Life Science Is an inter disciplinary subject , you can opt for any of those. But to specify , In IISc Bangalore, there is separate division of biological sciences, which is purely meant for biological science and life science graduates. IITs like Kharagpur and IIT kanpur, MAdras , have the seperate sector and department meant solely for Life science graduates.
Along with this , For a LIfe science graduates, If you want Masters IN complete Life science and not any specific , you do not have that, but the life science graduates get seats In those institutuion. Also, I prefer IISER over IISc for Life Science and Biological Sciences Graduates , because, IISERs are meant completely for Basic science and LIfe Science studies. Though IISc have been very Popular now a days for LIfe Sciences, IISER have more Opportunity and It is nearly equal to IISc and IITs.
Also, The exams for all IITs IISERs and IISc , there is more preference for IIT-JAM exam and TIFR-JGEEBILS exams. IIT and IISc take through JAM and GATE exams , where as IISERs also include JGEEBILS. One More most famous renowned Institutes for Life Science graduates is TIFR mumbai. This particular institution is renowend across India for LIfe sciences and Biological Sciences Graduates.
Make your Best Choice.,
ALL the BEST and GOOD LUCK. IF you have any further query , Please feel free to ask.
Thank you :)
