Is iist bangalore good to join after jee main and advance

Prachi Kumari 7th May, 2025

Hello,

IIST (Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology) in Bangalore is a great option if you're interested in space science, aerospace engineering, or related fields. It is a reputed institute, especially for students aiming to work in the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

However, if you're not specifically interested in these areas, you may want to consider other institutes as well. But, if you're passionate about space and aerospace, IIST is a good choice after JEE Main and Advanced.

Hope it helps !

Sir, My rank in keam is 1014, jee mains is 32763 (98 percentile) and iist rank is 3622. I see less chance in iist, got cse in iiit kottayam after josaa round 4. what should I consider?

Abhishek 24th Jul, 2024

Hi there,

Congratulations on securing 1014 rank in the keam examination and 3622 in the iist examination.

To know about the colleges in which you are eligible for the admission you can visit the official website and then check about the previous year cutoffs and the opening and the closing rank required to get an admission in a certain college.

Generally at this rank you are mostly eligible in many colleges participating in the counselling but you can check  the further details regarding it to give you a better knowledge.

You can also take help from our official college predictor which is especially designed by our experts  to give you an idea about the colleges in which you can get admission at this rank. The link of the predictor is mentioned below:

https://www.careers360.com/keam-college-predictor?utm_source=qna&utm_medium=ini-cet_cp

Also, if you have a option to choose after the rounds of counselling then you certainly can choose the present allocated institute as it is a better option than others.

Hope this resolves your query.

why iist placement offers very poor package and low placement in spite of admission based on JEE Advanced?

Tanya Gupta 5th Jun, 2024

Hello,

Despite these factors, the landscape for IIST graduates is evolving. With the growing interest and investment in the private space sector in India and globally, more opportunities might become available, potentially improving placement statistics and salary packages over time. The specialized knowledge and skills acquired at IIST are highly valued in certain sectors, and as these sectors expand, the demand for IIST graduates is likely to increase.

Hope this helps you,

Thank you
