Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram
Hello dear student,
Every student aspiring for admission to an IIT has to first appear for the JEE Main Examination. Once qualified, he/she has to appear for JEE Advanced Examination. ... Those who clear JEE Mains only are eligible for admission to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, SFIs, and State Engineering Colleges (for some States).
While it's difficult to predict that you can get into IIT with 90 marks . Kindly mention your category also and without category it cannot be decided.
Thank you
Hii there, congratulations to you!!
Dear candidate, hope you are doing well, well the question you asked is very complicated and diverse if you think about your future. But there are some aspects where you must think about.
IIST and new IIT's like IIT PATNA, Hyderabad, etc. can be compared but IIT is more a brand and it provides you much more wide range of opportunities if you get into one.
Being in IIST there are high chances to go into ISRO. The ECE department itself is very reserach oriented and aslo it might provide you job. But you will see yourself revolving around Aerospace.
But in IIT you will get to experience many things, IIT patna is new but it's doing really great in recent years.
IIT colleges have slight high package than IIST. But then you must decide whether you want to opt for ECE or Civil branch. Both are very different. Civil is a preferred choice by boys, but now a days, ECE is also in demand, it is more coding and circuit oriented. There are less opportunities in civil for research but there are few. It is more inclined towards designing and working on field which you might enjoy. You can compare both colleges here

All the best!
Dear Aspirant,
There are some the best option in this JEE rank But I like to say you should consider your choice in field of engineering like you to do ECE or Civil.
I will suggest you to go for civil in IIT Madras if you interested in civil also you can upgrade your branch to ECE if seats are vacant and you Have good CGPA.
If you more interest in ECE you can opt for ISM Dhanbad.
Both are premier IIT in research and placement areas.
Best of Luck
Hello Aspirant,
No but your jee advance marks are the only one which are considered ,but to appear in jee advance you need to clear JEE main and for validation of jee main you need to get 75 percentage in your respective board .
so in short you need to need to get above 75 percentage after that it's good, no matter if you score 90%or not.
However, in 12th you should have 75% aggregate marks (Gen category) and 65% marks for reserved category
Hope this helps you .
All the best for your future.

Hello aspirant, hope you are doing good.
So, first thing that you need to know is that the preparatory rank is not a real rank, and it doesn't give you a confirmed seat in any of the colleges this year. This rank is for preparatory courses, which are offered by some of the IITs for a year, and at the end of the year, you have to qualify for the exam, only then you will be able to get a confirm seat in the IITs. These ranks doesn't let you get into IIST, it's not for IIT preparatory courses.
If you want to know about all the possible colleges you can get into with your JEE Mains rank, you can get it here:

Hope this helps you. Good Luckk!!
Dear candidate,
Congratulations on achieving such a good rank in JEE Advanced. Based on my experience you should probably be able to get into IIST as you also have OBC certificate. To be able to get an idea about as to which colleges you might be eligible to get into you can use the college predictor linked below
For IIST Trivandrum, the opening cutoff percent for aerospace for OBC NCL is 53.55% and the closing cutoff for the same is 44.81%. In terms of rank it is 73 for opening and 203 for closing.
For more information regarding the same you can visit the link given below.
