IIST B.tech admission is done on the basis of JEE Advanced Scores. There is no entrance examination conducted. The candidates will have to register and fill out details about their JEE Advanced details.

No, you don't need to pay for counselling but you have to pay for application form. The application fee for UG courses is Rs. 600/- (for Male candidates of GEN/OBC-NCL), Rs. 300/- (Female candidates in GEN and OBC-NCL) and Rs. 300/- (for SC/ST/PWD), for PG courses is Rs.

You can apply for gate 2019.There is no attempt and age problem in gate.You can appear when ever you want to.
