My jee advanced 2019 obc rank is 961. I am confused in choosing electrical engineering at IIT Hyderabad or IIT BHU. Which is better?

You are very correct that IIT Bhu has a strong alumni network aincs it is very old.

On the contrary IIT Hyderabad is relatively new , but the placement have been very good in the previous year as compared to IIT Bhu. IIT Hyderabad being new has new and updated

I see that you have not mentioned the name of exam .So , i consider the exam to be JEE ADVANCED and your 1114 rank to be JEE ADVANVED ST category rank.

So , if we see the previous year cutoff trends for JEE ADVANCED ranks for ST

Well, basing upon your rank in JEE ADVANCED, you have the chance for getting admission into IIT BHU for dual degree ME. But since you're a general candidate, its better to apply for colleges in your own home state so that the chances of getting admission are high.

IIIT Hyderabad CSE is comparable to the top 5 IITs.
That being siad, nothing else, no other branch, in any IIIT , is comparable to any other brnach in any IIT .
So, I personally, suggest you to go for IIT BHU

iit Hyderabad , nit warangal , iit Delhi , iit guwahati these all colleges are best for btech . You can join any college because these colleges are best for btech . These colleges having experienced faculty and staff . Infrastructure is awesome . So all the colleges are better

Hello Aman,

Without a thought, Dual-Degree is a better option as compared to just B.Tech. B.Tech + M.Tech takes 6 years where Dual-Degree program gives you both degrees in 5 years span. IIT Buvneshwar ranks at number 9 whereas IIT Dhanbad ranks at number 19. So, by these 2 points

According to 2018 cutoffs, for general category students, the closing rank for five year integrated b.tech+m.tech in Mechanical engineering at IIT BHU for General category students was 4648. So, if we consider last year cutoffs, you have high chances of getting B.tech+M.tech in Mechanical engineering.
