Indian Institute of Technology Delhi
Hello Vadla,
You have to opt for the preferences that you have selected. Since you have already opted for construction management and structures. Since they are allocating the seat to you in Preference 1 and not Preference 2, it is on their discretion. You won't be given the option to choose otherwise. Hope this helps. All the best!

Hello Manish,
To get admission in Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi you must qualify JEE Advanced with good rank. For different branches the cut off's are different. Toughest competition is for the computer science and engineering branch. Last year, the opening rank for this branch for OBC category was 38 and closing rank was 65. To get this branch you must study very hard.
The cut off's for branches like textile technology goes high up to 3258 in Indian Institute of Technology Delhi while branches like Biotechnology and Biomedical engineering had opening and closing rank of 1849 and 2574 respectively last year.
For Mechanical engineering branch the opening rank was 327 and closing rank was 547 while electrical engineering branch started at 102 rank and ended at 271.
For chemical engineering, the opening rank was 547 and closing rank was 1148 last year. Likewise civil engineering started at 743and ended at 1224.

Based on the past trends IIT Delhi generally calls candidates with a GATE score of 500+ for further admission process of M.Tech(Material Science). HI,
TO join into IIM'S firstly you need to crack entrance exam like CAT and score very good and also get through other rounds like GDPI to enter into top IIMS (99+)
secondly with regard to intership and placements ,as you are already highly qualified with btech and mtech degree + you also have work experience ,once you enter IIMS ,you can stand out the crowd and have better chances for good opportunities at your disposal with regard to internship and final placement
and let me also say that you are not poor in academic ,you are an avg student and if you want to get into IIMS you can ,provided you work hard to crack the CAT EXAM.
GOOD LUCK
