Sir my Gate score 681 in mechanical does I get iit delhi or bombay energy branch

Muskaan 18th Apr, 2019
Hi Prateek
For IIT Bombay, the cut-off for Energy Science and Engineering for Mechanical in 2018, 2017 and 2016 was 600 for general category. So this is also the minimum qualifying gate score will also remain around 600 only for admission in IIT Bombay. So you will definitely get a seat in IIT Bombay, but the cutoff for Mechanical is higher in IIT Delhi for admission in Energy Studies. So you have lower changes of getting into IIT Delhi.

All the best!

My gate score 388 in ece with sc cat...can i hope admission in iit delhi, roorkee or kharakpur or nit warangle,trichu...

Prabhakar Pradeep 17th Apr, 2019

Hello,

Congrats to your score. With this score getting into top iit's is much more difficult. But this doesn't mean that you won't get any IIT's. The newly started IIT's are eligible and they are also performing well in recent days.

Can a student select JEE Advanced exam centres from any zone (IIT Delhi or IIT Madras), which may be outside state of his/her 12th school?

Tushar Sharma 22nd Mar, 2019
Hello,

Yes you can select any exam centre from any zone

Although the allocation of centre is based upon the availability at that particular location

The preference of centre doesn't guarantee that you will get the chosen centre, it may or may not be same.

Hope this helps.

Thank You.

is mtech non core students(aerospace engineering, energy science eng.) or allowed to sit for IT company placements in any IIT or NIT,IIT

Bikash Student Expert 14th Apr, 2019

At maximum you might be allowed to sit for the companies coming for mass recruitments, but i doubt if such companies would visit any of the IITs or NITs, since a student pursuing M.Tech is considered to have done a specialization already, therefore chances are less that such candidates would be considered by companies offering profiles in IT domain. However, you can apply off campus to companies like Accenture, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Cognizant, they have their hiring windows open for freshers.

I have placed application for mtech under general category in iit delhi but now I have obc ncl certificate so can I place another appln?

Samridhi Rai 8th Apr, 2019

Sachin,

In my opinion I do not think it is possible to put two applications under a single name. You can request for amendments/ update in submitted data by the authorities. I suggest you contact the admin for much clearer options on this issue. There might be few new options for the same or even an exception.

Good Luck!

sir i aplied mtech in iit delhi on gate . i selected pref

Neha Mohanty 8th Apr, 2019

Hello Vadla,

You have to opt for the preferences that you have selected. Since you have already opted for construction management and structures. Since they are allocating the seat to you in Preference 1 and not Preference 2, it is on their discretion. You won't be given the option to choose otherwise. Hope this helps. All the best!
