how many marks are needed to a st category student to get any iit in 2022
Hello aspirant!
Cut-off scores for ST students, is around 26.7 this time, down from 34.6 in 2021, 39.06 in 2020, and 44.3 in 2019. The OBC (non-creamy layer) cut off stands at 67, compared to 68.02 in 2021, 72.8 in 2020, and 74.3 in 2019 respectively.
Of the total registered, 9.05 lakh candidates took the exam, of which 3.7 lakh belonged to the unreserved category, 3.2 lakh came from OBC category, 85,938 from ST, and 31,191 from SC, also a four-year low across all categories.
So, it all depends also on, no. Of candidates appeared vs seats.
Hope, it is clear.

I got 4567 rank in JEE mains 2022. and I am confident to get a good rank in JEE advanced. I want to pursue robotics. Should I do mechanical from IIT and then MS in robotics ? Please tell me your suggestions.
This is a very interesting question. If you want to pursue robotics further, then for now you can do either mechanical engineering from IITM, or ECE or Electrical Engineering from any Indian Institute of Technology. Nowadays there is a much better branch for UG which is Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and many good IITs like IIT Guwahati, IIT Bhilai, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Jodhpur offer it.
Going for an AI degree nowadays will be a better option that traditional branches like Mechanical due to the competitive edge they provide.

Hope I have answered your question. All the best!
i have got 93 percentile in jee mains 2022 session 2.....i am from general -ews category and i got 8900 rank can i get cs or it in nit or triple iit????
Hello Ajinkya,
Congratulations for your result. 93 percentile is a good score. In order to get the exact college first we need to calculate the exact rank. It is quite difficult to predict the exact rank as the trends changes every year because it depends on many factors like number of students appeared, shift, toughness, etc.
But we can predict your result based on the previous trends. With 93 percentile your CRL-AIR will be around 71610 - 80500 . You can verify your rank by using our rank predictor tool which is given below:

In order to get a seat in NITs in EWS category, you need to score at least 92 percentile as per past year trends in lower branch and for CSE and it at least 96 percentile.
Thus, with 93 percentile, chances are high for NITs but for lower branches that too in north eastern NITs.
If you want to check the chances of getting a college, you can go through our college predictor link which is given below:
Thank you and all the best for your future.
I got CRL 49766 and 13704 in OBC-NCL rank in JEE Mains 2022. Any chance to get into any top NIT or IIT in CS Branch? I belong to Bihar.
Hello Vivek,
Congratulations on your result. As you may know, the cutoff for CS branch is on the higher side.
The colleges that you can expect with CS branch are:
- IIIT Kalyani, West Bengal
- IIIT Manipur
- IIIT Kottayam
- IIIT Ranchi
- IIIT Bhagalpur
- IIIT Agartala
- Indian Institute of Information Technology, Vadodara International Campus Diu (IIITVICD)
Note- This is just a prediction. This prediction has been made after analysis of last year cutoff. However, prediction of college is not so easy and it depends on a lot of factors. Also, the cutoff ranks for CSAB go on the higher side. The above prediction is done for JoSAA seat allotment rounds.
