It will depend first of all on your score in GATE but as far it is concerned there is no such issue of the branch as your branch contains Computer Science as well.So you might get admission in any IIT mtech under cse.

Both the branches are lion.
Placement of both are awesome. Scope are also very vast for both.
But ECE will be more better because in a report it is predicted that in four years scope of ECE will be very vast even more than CSE.

Greetings!Last year's closing rank for Mechanical Engineering at IIT Dhanbad was 7000. You might have a chance of getting your desired branch and college. But, do keep a backup option in case this doesn't work out.

This depends on what sort of branch and which college you want. For eg- if you are just concerned for CSE branch then in 2017 cutoff was around 6000 rank ( IIT Jammu) for general till seven rounds of counselling. If you want a more popular college then
