It is not possible for a general candidate to get into IIT with this rank. Case with IIT is also same but still you can check cut off for all nits going through this link-

Hello, My son got 4036 Rank in JEE Advanced, We are in General Category. Can he get admission in Delhi IIT.

He can surely convert Biotechnology engineering and Textile technology engineering at IIT Delhi.

He can also convert DTU Delhi all branchrs.

Some other IIT he can convert are Ropar, Mandi, Jammu, Jodhpur, Palakkad, Tirupati, Bhilai.

Depending upon his area of specialization he can choose colleges below based on previous years

5uears integrated courses at all IITs have bright prospects and cutoffs too ar ehigh since rop quality Faculties and well proven learning pedagogy is imparted.

Students get excellent placement specially woth older IIT like Bombay, Madras, Kharagpur, Roorkee.

Yes he can surely work in other kind of jobs but he shall require lot of training and learning post engineering to specialise in particular field.

He can go for Mtech or MS for further specialization and understand all advnaced concepts and Technology.

Average package at IIT Kharagpur is 9LPa

Yes you can sufely convert Preparatory courses in Mechanical from newer IIT like Jammu, Ropar, Mandi.

Also its noted that after end of preparation course candidates have ro reappaear for exam to get shortlisted into IITs Full time Btech Programs from 2019 of 4 year duration.

Preparatory course is residential
