my jee advanced CLR rank : not qualified , St rank : 988 . is there any chances of getting admission in IITs? if yes which branches?

It seems like your category is SC or ST u may get IIT with branch not of your choice

You can have the chance for least preferred branches in IIT like marine, textile branches which has not very good scope in future.

Basically what happens in prepatory courses is that you are taught once again PCM for one year in IIT itself and then u are eligible for taking admission in IITs

IITs have a preparatory course for the students belonging to communities which are backwards on academic grounds.
Considering the fact that these students might not have had the kind of support or environment required to crack JEE, these students are getting a chance to join educational opportunities.
