The process is same as that of a plus two student. Write the JEE and get a good rank as there is no lateral entry available for IIT.

If you are determined to crack IITs you can take a drop but make sure you are motivated to acheive your goal. If you are dropping a year make sure it is worthful otherwise you can take admission in private college.

Lower branch in IIT or Cse in Thapar University?

IITs will get you a brand name for your entire life. There are companies like Oracle which are open for all the branches. In IITs, you will have much much higher opportunities as compared to IITs.

However, I have seen people getting a good placement from Thapar in CS.

Don't buy new books now . It will only worsen your performance. Just go through whatever you've studied till now.

You can give Jee Main thrice and Advanced twice consecutively considering your 12th.

i got 101 marks in jee main and 122 marks in jee adv. (obc) and in cbse 12 th i got 71% only . will i get nit/iit/any gov. collage cse(br)

As per the new government rules, general category candidate should have 75% to enter into IIT's/NIT's but for sc/sc it is 65%. So you're having betterchance to get into any government college/ private universities.

There are no any criteria for the subject wise minimum mark for JEE Mains, only your total marks matters, for JEE Advanced, you need to score minimum marks individually in each of the subjects.
