There are several IITs that provide MSc/M.Tech in Mathematics course and they accept IIT JAM scores for admission into this course.

  • IIT-Delhi -  M.Tech. in mathematics and computing
  • IIT- Kharagpur -  M. sc. degree in mathematics and computing.

If you want to pursue research and PhD in the field of algebra and analysis, then go for IIT Kanpur, which is one of the oldest IITs and is best in this field. If you want to eleborate your career in applied maths, then IIT Delhi must be  your destination.

The IIT Jam cutoff will differ according to your category. For general category, the cutoff for MSc Mathematics was around 33.65 in 2020. what should be the average marks to get seat in iit tirupati (CSE) in jee main and advance?

Anurag Khanna 4th Jan, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

Since you have not mentioned your category so considering it as General but if you belongs to any other category then please mention it down. Also note that admission to either in IIT Tirupati or in any other IITs for B.Tech program is taken only on the basis of JEE-Advance score not on JEE-Main score. But in order to sit for JEE-Advance you need to qualify the minimum cut-off percentile of JEE-Main which will be decided by the NTA at the time of final result declaration.

As we go through the latest cut-off of 2020 then it shows that the closing rank for Open/General category was 4117 for CSE branch in IIT Tirupati. See it is quite difficult to tell you about exact marks to score because for JEE-Advance no maximum marks are fixed but yes with regards to JEE-Advance 2021 if you secure your AIR in JEE-Advance under top 4100 then there are good chances for you to get CSE branch in IIT Tirupati.

You can check out the latest cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of JOSAA or CSAB and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

As you are preparing for JEE-Main and JEE-Advance 2021 the I would recommend you to check the resources made by our experts to help aspirants like you in the best and smart preparation of JEE-Main 2021 :-

Do we have to pay the fees at IITs although we get a gud rank?

saurabhkhade4699 24th Nov, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

All the students have to pay the fees of each and every semester irrespective of their AIR
However their are various scholarships available at the IIT's which they can avail
Another option is education loan (scholar loan) available at the IIT's which you can avail without any security
Therefore money cannot be a barrier for a sincere and hard working student studying at any of the IIT (old or new)
Hope this helps

My one friend is there, due to some reasons he was in depression from last 3 months but now he is completely fine, he has just done his 11th class study and little bit of 12th and his dream is of IIT,so can any IITian or NITian guide?

chinchujoseph1993 3rd Jan, 2021

Hello,

First of all I am happy to hear that your friend is doing fine now.

Getting into the top IITs is a dream for many engineering aspirants. To get an admission into the top IITs you need to do really well in the JEE Advance. And to be able to appear for JEE Advance you need to qualify JEE Mains being among the top 2,50,000 candidates.

JEE Advanced is considered to be one of the toughest entrance examinations and there is a tight competition for this exam. Students failing in the first attempt make repeated attempts. To crack JEE Advanced requires a lot of hard work.

Candidates should have qualified the 10+2th examination with Minimum 75% aggregate if there is no reservation to be eligible for JEE Advance.

Below I have provided some tips for preparing for JEE Mains and Advanced examinations.

  • The most important thing that has to be done first is to understand the exam pattern, the dates and the syllabus . This helps you to understand which topics you will have to spend more time on and plan your timetable accordingly

  • Once you get to know about the syllabus and the dates, now you can set a timetable. You can decide how many days or hours you will be keeping for each subjects, revision and to practice previous year papers and mock tests. Manage time in a way that you spend enough time on difficult topics and also ensure that you have ample time for revision and practice.

  • Another important thing to keep in mind is to find the correct books for you . Some books may be hard to follow, so try to get materials that are written in a student friendly language. Below I have given a link where you can find details about the best study materials

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/best-study-material-for-jee-main

  • While studying the subjects make sure you keep note of important points and equations in a separate book . This will come in handy at the time of revision.

  • Once you are done studying the subjects start revising and doing previous year papers and mock question papers on a daily basis . This helps you to recollect the formulas, gives you an idea on where you have to improve and will also help you to manage time better. Make it a point to solve atleast one paper every day during the month you have kept apart for revision and practicing question papers.

Below I have shared a link where you can get sample question papers.:

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-question-papers

  • Another important thing is that don’t study anything new at the last minute and this can create confusions.

  • NEVER TAKE YOUR HEALTH FOR GRANTED . Get proper sleep, eat healthy food and keep your self hydrated. Ensure that you do not stress your self too much and give enough time to relax and take breaks. Always remember that if you are stressed out then take a break as it would not bring out any good results when you put yourself in more stress.

  • Finally, on the day of the exam relax and don’t get tensed. Keep your mind clear and give the exam.  You will surely be able to do well.

Following these and being completely dedicated to this, I am sure your friend will be able to get into one of the best IITs.

Hope this was useful.

Good Luck

How much we have to score in civil engineering gate exam in order to qualify for IIT Delhi for post graduation?

Abhishek Roy 1st Jan, 2021

Assuming you are from General Category to secure a seat in Civil Engineering M.Tech at IIT Delhi, the cutoffs in GATE CE for various M.Tech specializations are as follows

Construction : 770

Structural : 820

Water resources : 675

Transportation : 709

Incase you are from OBC Category you can expect a relaxation of atmost 40-50 points from the Score mentioned above for GENERAL Category. As you see Structural Engineering followed by Construction Engineering & Management are two of streams having direct applications in the Infrastructure Industry and Placement prospects with Companies like Tata Projects, L&T as well as Top PSUs and Research Organizations like ISRO, BARC, hence their demand and high cutoffs.

For more information about Gate Cutoffs at various IITs and various streams do follow the link below

can u pls suggest me book for iit jam economics specially for maths and stats sections of MSc economics

dandeharitha 21st Nov, 2020

Hello aspirant,

Integral calculus -Most of the questions are from definite integral. I referred Integral Calculus by Samvedna publications .

Differential calculus - Concentrate on Rolles theorem,Lagrange’s theorem, and Intermediate value theorem. Also focus on partial differentiation. I referred Differential equations by Samvedna publications .

Vector algebra - Concentrate on Stokes’ theorem, Divergence theorem and Greens’ theorem. Questions are asked from these topics only. I referred Vector calculus by Samvedna publications.

Differential calculus - This is the easiest topic. Only ordinary differential equations is in the syllabus. I referred Differential calculus by Samvedna publications.

Linear algebra -Questions are mostly application oriented. You can either refer Linear algebra by Hoffman and Kunze (which gives a strong theoretical foundation but lacks examples and exercises for practice) or Linear algebra by Gilbert Strang( which is more application oriented and has a lot of exercises for practice). If your sole aim is to crack JAM go for the latter. But if you also want to build a strong foundation,go for the first one.
