Well, you can become a professor at reputed institutes in India such as IISc, TIFR, IITs etc., To do that you have to satisfy the eligibility criteria such as
A PhD degree plus 3 years post PhD experience at some reputed institutes or universities.
The quality of journal publications you have, the ability to do independent research work as well as teaching abilities.
You should be able to present yourself that how different you are when compared to other applicants. What kind of benefits the respective department of the institute will get if they hire you
Your adviser recommendation letter decides your position. Always maintain a good relation with your phd professor and post-PhD adviser
You should always think that “Why should they hire you?” How different you are? How different is your work when compared to the current research projects in the respective department. How useful you are to the hiring department of the institute?
You have to think along all these directions before you are going to start applying to reputed institutes in India especially IISc, TIFR etc.,

There is another rank which is given, apart from CRL, called as JEE Advanced Preparatory Rank.Firstly, This doesn’t mean a rank in JEE Advanced. You’re not alloted a rank in JEE Advanced Rank List. For example, if your JEE Advanced Preparatory Rank is 150, then it will be written as 150-P. It is completely different from CRL and it has a different meaning also. Let's know more about it.
The vacant seats reserved for SC, ST and PwD candidates will be allotted to the candidates of respective categories for admission to a preparatory course of one-year duration on the basis of relaxed admission criteria. Admission is given to the candidates in the preparatory course provided
The seats reserved for the respective category are vacant and
Candidates have not accepted a seat in the preparatory course earlier.
Major Important Points Regarding Preparatory Courses
IITs (not all) runs preparatory courses of one year duration for SC, ST and PwD candidates intended to prepare them to pursue the academic program (for session 2020–21) to which they have been allocated.
At the end of this course, candidates are declared as pass or fail.
On successful completion of the course i.e. after getting a pass grade in preparatory course, the candidates will be offered direct admission in July 2021 (Academic Year 2021–22) to the already allotted undergraduate course which was allotted to them during the time of JOSAA counseling 2020.
Filling-in of choices for preparatory courses is through the same online portal.
Candidates admitted to the preparatory course 2020–21 are also eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2021 subject to fulfilling other eligibility criteria.
On successful completion of the course, the candidates will be offered direct admission to the already allotted undergraduate course.

You will have two options:
1.Grab top 5 IITs compromising with branch.
2 .Grab top branch in New IITs.
So you have to manage with either of them.Also you can go for some very good college where admission criteria is on the basis of JEE Advanced rank.And if you are interested in research then you try for various IISERs. If you are interested in space science then you can go for IIST.
I think if you are not committed with any specific branch then you should prefer top college over top branch because in top college you will find nice environment and branch change in IITs is easier.

In 4000 ews rank there is no chances to get seat in iit as per the previous year opening and closing ranks to get seat in iit. But you can try maybe you can get seat in iit srinagar, iit jodhpur, iit mandi, but for getting seat into these low rank iits you have to be patience till last round of counselling.

Congratulations on your JEE ADVANCED rank. Sorry to say but with this rank you can not get into any IIT under General category. As maximum rank through which a candidate get lower branch in lower IIT is around 10000, hence it would be impossible for you to get into IIT.
