Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 6th Oct, 2020

hi,

see cutoff score changes in every year and it depends on certain factors like number of applicants, questions difficulty level, seat matrix, students category, choice of stream etc. based on previous years closing score you have chances in quite a few iits which is mentioned below,

IIT BHU, civil, ceramic engineering, mechanical engineering

IIT GANDHINAGAR- chemical engineering,  civil, materials science and engineering.

sir my preparatory rank in sc is 2983 can i get admission in iit?

Abhishek Roy 6th Oct, 2020

Yes I believe having a SC Rank of 2983 will ensure admission in Preparatory Courses in IIT. Preparatory Courses are conducted by the top 7 IITs and will be a good experience for you before you finally enter the Btech/Dual Degree course at some IIT.

what will be my jee advance rank if i score 160 marks can i get iit with it,tell the name of that iits.

Ayush Singh 5th Oct, 2020
Hello Candidate!!
With this much marks, you will be approx 13500 to 14500 AIR in JEE Advance.
But as you mentioned about the IITs and the stream as CSE, so it can't be possible. You have to score above 200 for that.
In three IITs, you are getting seat but for the B.Arch.
You can prefer the following link and can predict the colleges and the rank too:
https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-advanced-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

Through this, you can surely get to know about all the colleges in which you have chance to get admitted.

But if you are only specific for CSE only, then according to my opinion if your JEE Mains marks is good, then you should go for some good NITs, IIITs or Top Private Colleges which provides guarantee for the better placement.

You have performed well in the exams but you need more effort to get better rank.
If you will stay with the counsellings, then might you can get chance to be in IIT through JoSAA counselling, which is always a last hope for all the candidates.

Choose that stream only in which you have interest, don't just go on the rankings of college. Because college will not learn, you have to learn, So choose better stream of your interest only.

Hope that my answer helped you.

My preparatory sc rank is 1989... sc female. Will I get a seat in any IIT.....??

kritiesse 7th Oct, 2020

Hello,

So you got a 1989 rank but it does not mean a rank in JEE Advanced. Your rank is not alloted in JEE Advanced Rank List.

Preparatory courses mean that for one year you will be prepared and trained in IIT, and then after one year you’ll be declared ‘ pass’ or ‘fail’ according to which you will get a direct admission in an undergraduate course from next academic session.

Also, there are some vacant seats reserved for PwD, SC, ST candidates, which don’t get filled in the counselling, that will be allotted to the candidates of respective categories for admission to a preparatory course

So, your rank for the Preparatory Course is different from an actual undergraduate programme in IIT.

Hope this helps.

50% marks in pcm is necessary for admission in an IIT clg for a category student

lakshita shaan 5th Oct, 2020

hey,

i hope you are well

for this year the 12th percentage criteria has been relaxed for the candidates seeking admission in IITs, NITs, GFITs , now they only need a passing certificate of class 12th and a valid score of JEE mains and JEE advanced , however this will not be followed for next year for 2021 admission 12th percentage criteria will be considered that is candidate belonging to general and OBC category need to secure a minimum aggregate of 75 percent marks in their 12th and there is a relaxation of 10 percent for candidate belonging to SC, ST and PwD category.

hope this helps

good luck!

my preparatory sc rank is 3849 in jee advance 2020. do I get any iit colleges? ?

Ritik goyal 5th Oct, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

Your category rank is not so good and based on this rank and previous year cut off it is very difficult to get any iit with any branch. If you have state quota for any college then it  might be possible to get the college. But the assumption is based on previous year cut off and you know that cut off is vary every year.
