As per your question, at your rank of 5511 as per obc category you can get IIITs like :-
1) IIT gandhinagar :- you can get branches like civil, machanical, metallurgy.
2) IIT roorkee:- you can get branches like civil, metallurgy, biotechnology.
3) IIT Goa :- mechanical
For many lower branches like biotechnology, metallurgy you can choose iits like IIT BHU, IIT dhanbad and many IITS as you can get many IITs for this lower branches .

Definitely IIT has much better placements than nit it's average is 15 lpa while nits has 9 lpa, but still there are some nits whose placement are better than some low ranked iits.
But overall iits has better placements than nit.

If you belong to general category then unfortunately you won't get some really good college in the country, with this marks of yours you will get the low ranked college or the private college.
I suggest you to take a drop and try to score 97+ percentile next year.

I am sorry to say but you can not get any nit or iit .
So please go for private colleges.it will be beneficial for you or wait for next year and do preparation.
As I think college is only a 4 year partner but branch is life time partner so if you are getting your interested branch in any private colleges also so don't worry and take admission.

You can go for josaa counselling , you might get some new iit in the later round in some low branches .
JEE Advanced score can be used to take admission to many colleges other than IIT which are these -
1)IISC Bangalore
2)IISER
3)IIST Thiruvananthapuram
4)RGIPT
5)IIPE
From these , you have good chances to get iist , iiser , rgipt and iipe , so you can try for them .
