Hello,
The rank which you currently have is for the preparatory course that differs from an actual undergraduate courses. In JEE Advanced, preparatory rank doesn't imply a rank. The JEE Advanced Rank List does not allocate you a rank. Actually the vacancies reserved for candidates from SC , ST and PwD not get filled at counselling will be assigned to candidates from the same caste groups for the entry to a preparatory course in IITs. Now, Preparatory courses imply that you will be educated & trained for one year, then you will be deemed 'pass' or 'fail' after one year, according to which you will receive a direct entry to the admission from the next academic session to an undergraduate courses in IIT . So if you're not interested for this, you can try for NITs
