I got 77% percentile and my category rank 14800 will I get any nit ,iit, Gfti .

Nikhitha Sai 28th Sep, 2020

Hello Student,

A score of 74 percentile low of a score. Due to the competition increasing by the minute everyday, the need for scoring higher marks and scores keep increasing more and more. Hence, unfortunately you might not be able to get a seat in reputed universities such as IITs, NITs and IIITs.

There are some other universities into which you have a good chance of getting into. Hence I would suggest you to apply for other universities.

Some other good universities would be:

1. SSN College of Engineering, Chennai

2. SASTRA Deemed to be University, Thanjavur

3. Andhra University, Andhra Pradesh

4. Delhi University

5. Shiv Nadar University

6. VIT, Vellore

7. Manipal Institute of Technology

Hello Ravi,

The comparison between the given colleges is as follows:

CSE at IIT BHU - Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) Varanasi is a constituent unit of Banaras Hindu University. It is also known as the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi or IIT (BHU) Varanasi. This is a public university, which offers courses in technology, science and humanities. The college was founded in 1919 as the Banaras Engineering College. In1968, it became the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University. In 2012, the institute beccame Indian Institute of Technology. Its NIRF Ranking is 11. B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering in Indian Institute of Technology Banaras Hindu University Varanasi has lowest fees. The placement median salary is 13.60 LPA.

EE at IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay) was established in 1958 under the Government of India. The institute started functioning with 14 academic departments, 10 centres, two schools and three interdisciplinary programmes. IIT Bombay is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). In terms of facilities, all the colleges provide equivalent facilities of hostels, canteen, library, sports and medical services. The banking and ATM facilities are provided at the campuses which facilitate the students to carry out important banking interactions like cash withdrawal or cheque deposits. Sports activities are promoted on the campus.

All the three IITs are equally good, but considering branches, CSE would be best. So , it is completely up to your area of interest, which branch and college you want to take admission in, based on your interests.

Sir, IIT Tirupati, mechanical engineering, BITS Hyderabad M. school. maths-I got both these. Which is to choose. ? please guide me

apeksha150598 7th Nov, 2020
Hello aspirant,

If you look at the choice of college, both IIT and BITS are excellent in their own way. Both have very good placement packages. One difference is that IITs are government funded and their fees is lesser as compared to BITS. Now if you look at choice of branch, I would suggest go for mechanical engineering. This branch is an evergreen branch. It has opportunities in both private as well as government sector. Mechanical engineering from IIT will get you amazing placement in good core companies with great package.
So Mechanical engineering from IIT  Tirupati would be a great choice according to me.

All the best!

I have scored 160/396 , belong to OBC-NCL , will I get in top 7 IITs core branches (CSE/ECE/EEE)?

Naman Raturi 28th Sep, 2020

Hello There ,

Your score is very good , but see rank , varies every year according to the toughness of the paper . Although according to last year cutoffs your rank would be around 2000-4000 . With this rank you can get ECE and EE in many decent IIT'S , although Cs can be little tricky as the cutoffs for cs are increasing every year . Still by the 7th round you might get Cs in some IIT , but EE and ECE you can get in  decent IIT going by last year cutoff ,

For more details you can refer the following page. -

If we do BTech in civil engineering, then can we do MTech in IIT with any other branch after clearing GATE??

Sharon Rose Student Expert 7th Nov, 2020

Hello,

You are allowed to choose any other paper other than your B.tech discipline paper that you want to appear but you must fulfill the eligibility criteria of the respective institute in which you are seeking admission. For example if you wish to get admission in a specialization 'A' and the eligibility criteria to get admission is that you must have passed your qualifying exam in B.tech Mechanical Engineering then you are not eligible for getting admission even if you qualify in GATE exam since you haven't fulfilled the eligibility criteria.

So before applying you need to check the eligibility criteria for the program and institute you want to get admission. You can read the FAQs in GATE 2021 portal to get insights https://gate.iitb.ac.in/faq.php

what if I am graduating in a university which is not recognised by UGC ,BUT I have done my PG from a IIT will there be any problem in my career

Shreya sharma 7th Nov, 2020

Hello,

If you're not graduating from a UGC recognized college, then, the main problem starts when you're going for Masters, as, most of the masters degree specify this in their eligibility criteria( that the candidate must be from a university recognized by UGC). So, if you manage to get your degree in masters, there would be considerably no such issues in your career.

However, i would suggest you to always take admission in a UGC Recognized college for better convenience.

Thankyou!
