for iit in other states ews of Maharashtra also acceptable yes or no for jee advance examination

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 26th Sep, 2020

Hello,

yes it is acceptable. If you apply for IIT campus located in your domicile state the you will go under home state quota else you will go under open category.

There are very less IIT campus and not every state has IIT campus. so students can apply for IIT campus under open category if they hold eligible rank/score.

for home category:- Home state quota+ reservation category

for other states :- Open Category+ reservation category

Hope it helps!

why should all Jee advanced toppers choose IIT Bombay to learn CSE . Why dont they will not take IIT Madras ? IIT Madras is in 1 NRIF ranking but why should they are joining in Bombay ?

Arihant kapoor 5th Nov, 2020

Hello Aspirant

IIT Madras is ranked 1 in NIRF ranking, but all toppers of JEE Advanced goes to IIT Bombay for CSE. This is because of various factors:

  • IIT Bombay is situated in the Economical capital of India making it a perfect place for companies for work. Also, students get the exposure of real life world, which is somewhat missing in IIT Madras.
  • Top Companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon coming to IITB is also one of the reasons.
  • Also, new technology is introduced in IITB, for example in the tech fest of IITB the World's first humanoid Sofia is displayed.
  • Also, NIRF ranking doesn't depend upon locality of college, but students while taking admissions prefer locality of the college.

Hope this helps and all the best.

which IIT college is best for Computer Science and Engineering ?

Pratyaksha Goswami 5th Nov, 2020

Dear student

IIT Bombay

It holds one of the most prestigious position among the IITs.

IIT Bombay also has a very good computer science program. The reputation around this college with respect to computer science is legendary. The faculty in this college is closest to being absolutely flawless you can find. The peer group is exceptionally high, as it is one of the first preference for most of the computer geeks.

Big companies like Google pick people from IIT Bombay to their Mountain View campus. Now placement isn’t always a good measure for the quality of the course, but this is Google we’re talking about. The number of students placed in Google and Facebook from IIT Bombay every year are a clear indicator of thriving computer science culture. Apart from this, they are a recurring feature at ACM ICPCs and a lot of students go to GSoC program, working on some very good projects. Also, IIT B is one of the largest exponents of the start up tech work force in India.

Hope it helps
