Is PhD students in iit get job in nit for assistant professor

Tunir Sikdar 20th Sep, 2020

Hi,

In case of reputed government institutions (viz. NITs and IITs), Ph.D. is a must for getting shortlisted and eligible for the selection process for the post of Assistant Professor.

Some colleges also ask for experience, while others look at your curriculum and projects, others at research publications, research vision etc. Thus it varies from one college to another. But the process is not easy.

You can go through this link for more details:

Hope this helps.

Wish you all the best!

I am female OCI whose completed education of 12th in India, Will I be able to avail the open category female supernumary seats in IIT?

ANUVAB DAS 30th Oct, 2020

Yes you can avail the supernumerary seats in IITs. OCI students are treated as Indian Nationals if they complete 12th class from India. But if someone tries to study in India after completing 12th or equivalent from other countries, he or she will be treated as Foreign Student.

Female supernumerary seats were created in 2018 to increase the female students in engineering colleges and to provide extra opportunity to female candidates. Previously the male female ratio in engineering colleges were 10:1 and after this decision the ratio became 7:1.

All the best.

Anurag Khanna 21st Sep, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

As we know that this year government has provided relaxation in class 12th marks in the wake of COVID-19, so now with the percentage you have mentioned in the question you are eligible for admission to NITs/IIITs/IITs. According to the rank you have mentioned in the question you can get top NITs like NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Uttarakhand, NIT Jaipur as per previous year's cut-offs which you can check from the link given below :-

https://www.google.com/amp/s/engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-top-nits/amp

Note that the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors.

So you can use JEE-Main College Predictor to predict your chances of admission in different engineering colleges of India :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

For IITs you have to appear in JEE-Advance and try to secure your rank under 10,000 for good colleges.

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!
