First of all I would like to tell you there are three kinds of IIITs in India :-

1. Indian Institute of Information Technology , Government like IIITM Gwalior etc.
2. Indian Institute of Information Technology , Public Private Partnership. like IIIT Pune  etc
3. International Institute of Information Technology ,

I assume you are asking about jee advance score and possibilities of rank to get admission in iit kharagpur, see cutoff score and closing rank differs year to year and depends on certain factors like number of participants, questions difficulty level, seat matrix, etc. now as far previous years

It is not compulsory as Institutes doesn't enforce anyone to stay in the Hostel.

If you can afford then you can live outside as a Day Scholar's or if you live nearby the college then you can opt for living in home.

• First of all complete the syllabus of JEE with major focus on building crystal clear concepts as to crack JEE

If we calculate one year is 365 days and it is much more enough to start from basic level but it is also depends upon your concentration and abilities to catch up new things as faster possible .So dont be loose your hope and start your journey
