As per previous year cutoff ranks for Computer Science Engineering at IIT Madras, for a General candidate, opening rank was 51 and the closing rank was 200. While the same in 2017 was 26 and 177 respectively.

Yes, B.Arch is an excellent option to choose in IITs. In fact IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee are placed among top colleges in NIRF ranking (Category - Architecture). The package which you get after 5 years of graduation in quite good and comparable to B.Tech.
