  • IIT Bombay
  • IIT Delhi

What should we prefer : IT in DTU, Biotech & Biochem in IIT GUWAHATI, Metallurgical Engg in IIT INDORE & their scope. Adv7946 Mains12835

Nitin singh 15th Jun, 2019
See studying what you are interested in is more important than selecting a college.actually what haapens we take IIT with lower branches and we spent 4 year with frustation.4 year is a long time to spent.if you don't take the branch which you want then strictly speaking you will end with nothing.you will have the tag of IIT nothing else.so I strictly reccomend you to go for DTU  with  (IT BRANCH) after completing your 4 years of btech you will definetly get good packages.even better than lower IITS.so best of luck brother.

Hello,
Congratulations on your rank!
According to 2018 cutoffs, with a rank of 4727, you can get Electrical engineering, Electronics and communication engineering at IIT Dhanbad. At IIT Bombay, you can get 4-year B.S. in Chemistry, 5-year B.tech+M.tech in Environmental science and engineering. At IIT Delhi, you can get 4-year B.tech Textile Technology. At IIT Goa, you can get Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering. Please note that this prediction is completely based on 2018 cutoffs. Also, take care of the fact that cutoffs can vary from year to year depending upon factors like number if seats available, number of students appearing for the examination, difficulty level of the paper etc.
I hope it helps. For any further queries regarding this, ask me in the comments.

IIT Indore Metallurgy or NIT Trichy Metallurgy which option is best?

adyasamohanty611_9299468 Student Expert 14th Jun, 2019

Hi Aspirant

This is one of the toughest choice that an aspirant has to make during JEE counseling.

NIT Trichy is one of the oldest NITs of the nation where as IIT Indore is a 2008 generation IIT , so in terms of alumni network you will get it better in NIT Trichy.

But IIT Indore is one of the fastest growing IIT right now, so you will get a lot of opportunities as well.

So you will have to weigh between these two and see which suits you better along with the location benefits.

Hope this helps. All the Best.

ankitshrajki97 Student Expert 13th Jun, 2019

Hello Snehita!

First of all advanced congratulations for securing good rank in JEE ADVANCED 2019.So if you are interested in engineering physics then go through your interest .Now coming to placement opportunities in IIT for engineering physics :First of all you should know that physics department is basically research department .So if you want to make career in research field then physics department is good. But if you want to get placement in physics department then it is very difficult because there are very less job opportunities in physics department.

Hope it answer your concerns.
