Indian Institute of Technology Indore
Hi Aspirant
A lot of aspirants come across this kind dilemma over the years. There cannot be a single answer to it. I'll just inform you about the pros and cons of both the choices.
IIT Kharagpur is one of the oldest and most renowned IITs. It is one of the best IITs. You will have better Alumni Network.
But industrial engineering as a branch is traditionally less preferred as compared to mechanical engineering. One of the reasons being that it is considered Mechanical engineering in general has better placement trends and more opportunities as compared with Industrial engineering.
IIT Indore is a 2008 generation IITs. Although it is relatively new but it is growing at a great pace.
Weigh these options and then decide.
Hope this helps. All the Best.
Hi Sajjad,
Dhanbad will be best option for you. Because academics and placement statistics are much better than other college mentioned here.
Most of the core companies of mechanical recruit students from here with an average package of 10-12lpa . Even the infrastructure of the college is well developed. Even the locality of ISM Dhanbad is too good to spend your next four years.
Many techfest are organized here which will help you to enrich your skills.
Then, comes IIT Bhuvaneswar and then IIT Indore. Both are at par with each other.
Hope it helps,
All the best!
See the answer will be on my personal opinion. All this universities that you mentioned are great, renowned and far better than many of the other institutions. Still if you would like to compare the better in the 3, I'll find IIT (ISM) Dhanbad to be better and top than the other two.
Well, before doing any comparisons I would like to tell more about the legacy institute.
So at the end decision is upto you.
Best wishes.
Hello Nikitha.
Among the options you are giving Indore mechanical is best one next to it is agriculture from IIT Kharagpur.
Iit will surely provide you a Tag of""IIT"" but it is not that much helpful with these branches. You should go for mechanical .. Moreover your interest also matters alot.
Opt accordingly.
Good luck
hello sajjad
the preference should be
1.iit hyderabad(2090 closing rank)
2.iit indore(3071 closing rank)
3.ism dhanbad(5821 closing rank)
4.iit bhubaneshwar
so you should go with iit indore and hyderabad as they are good placement wise, crowdwise and also location wise.
all the best

Hi Nagamani,
Both the IITs are good in their way and Metallurgy and Material Science in both the Institute is good, faculties are helpful. But which Institute is near to you and for the campus you have to visit it then you will get your best option which you want to prefer.
Dear Aspirant,
The choice of engineering branch depends upon your interest. If you are not sure about your interest then, pretty much every branch is going to be the same for you except for branch Computer Science. As you have to choose between IIT Indore and IIT Dhanbad, this is the choice which depends upon certain external factors:-
IIT Dhanbad, previously known as ISM Dhanbad is one of the oldest and reputed institutes in India. It is so good that it is being raised to the level of IIT. So if you are not sure about whether you are interested in Civil Engineering or Mining, then go with MINING in IIT Dhanbad.
However, if you are more into buildings, bridges, etc., then go for IIT Indore civil.
Hope this solves your query.
Comment your doubts, if any.
Thank You.
