Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
Hi.
Cut-offs are the minimum required marks for a candidate to be deemed as ‘Qualified’ in the examination. There are cut-off ranks as well which means the highest rank that a college has accepted a student into. Example, if cutoff rank for an engineering college is 2000 then all the students who have gotten a rank higher that 2000 will not be able to get a seat. Please note, that cutoff rank is different for every course in every college and they vary as per the reservation category as well. That said, to get admission into IIT you will not be able to do so for a B.Tech course because you will not meet the eligibility criteria for JEE Advance due to year restrcitions. However, you can pursue Robotic Engineering in M.Tech in an IIT.
Good Luck
Hi Aspirant,

All the best!
Hi Gampa,
How will you focus if your attention is more on what people are saying?..There will always be people around you who will put you down and instill fear in you learn to ignore them. Remember if you want to get into IIT or even survive in that place you will have to be tough head. Try to focus on your studies completely shutting every unnecessary things around you. Study smart ,work hard and give your best. Prove those people wrong and last but not the least the world doesn't end if you are not able to get into some IIT ,if not into IIT you can get into NIT or some other reputed college. IITs are best but they are not the only best in the country. Let people around say what they want to say its your life you will decide what you want to do. Their opinion about you doesn't define you. Whether you achieve your goal or not walk with your head held high because you tried and its better than sitting idly and judging others isn't it??. Those people who said its impossible are the people who never tried and are the people who gave up easily. But you don't give up and life doesn't go according to our plans always..you are not going to succeed always no one can..when something doesn't work your way you change your strategy alter your goal a little bit and keep moving forward no matter what.
Attitude decides your altitude!
Keep working hard!
Don't forget to update us on this. We look forward to it!
Dear,
I would say that Computer Science, Mathematics & Computing, Manufacturing Science and Economics are some great courses. These are branches that are generally available in different and mutually exclusive rank ranges and thus this gives a good option for entire spectrum of ranks that one can end up with.
But the truth is your branch creates little difference in where you end up after graduating from the old IITs. What matters is getting into the institute.
The institute offers same opportunities to all the students irrespective of their branches. Its these opportunities that helps these students progress better than that of any other engineering graduate. These opportunities include best peer-to-peer learning environment, abundance of societies to cater to different student interests, freedom to take up extra credits/projects etc., support for national/international level extra-academic events etc.
Hope this helps!
For Jee Advanced 2020 the Minimum Percentage of Marks in Each Subject for SC Category was 2.50% and Minimum Percentage Aggregate Marks was 8.75%.For knowing the detailed cutoffs and cutoff trends you can visit this link- https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-advanced-cutoff
Also the cutoff changes every year as it is based on several factors like difficulty of paper, how many students gave the exam etc. As the competition for old IITs is very high try scoring as much marks as you can.

Dear aspirant,
The government colleges like IITs/nits provides the privilege for students who are not financially strong ,they can study their with very low fees. On the basis of family income it is divided into 2 categories:-
1-Family income greater than 1L and less than 5L - There 2/3 rd of tuition fees would be remitted.
2-Family income less than 1L - Their full tuition fee will be remitted.
Excluding these remissions there are also scholarships available for the candidates. They can apply for that too.
