Dear candidate, IIT MADRAS does offer this course but at Post Graduate level. IIT Bombay offers degree in Petroleum exploration at PG level but you need to do BSc or MSc as background not engineering. ISM is equivalent to IIT which offers degree in PE at UG, PG and Ph.D

Taking into account the preparatory rank that you have got, it might be a little difficult to get IIT Madras, but you should be able to get other less preferred IITs, i.e, newer IITs
