Considering CSE which is the best among them, IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Patna, IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Dhanbad

Abhishek Roy 16th Oct, 2021

IIT Gandhinagar after IIT Indore is perhaps the fastest growing IIT, with excellent academic and employer outlook, overtaking much Older Institutes like IIT ISM. HENCE your first Preference should be IIT GN CSE followed by IIT Patna, Bhubaneshwar, Mandi and IIT ISM.

my jee advance rank in 11800, you suggest IIT Patna civil best or ism Dhanbad maining or iit jammu mechanical better

Abhishek Roy 15th Oct, 2021

Considering the Placement Aspect, with a Rank of 11800, assuming youre from General Category, ypur best option would be BTech Metallurgical at IIT Bhubaneshwar or Dual Degree Metallugical/Material Science at IIT BHU if you get at your Rank. Youll probably have better oppotunities at IIT BHU or Bhubaneshwar or even if its Mining or Environmental at IIT ISM. You even have a strong chances of changing your Branch to a better stream post First Year. Incase youre targetting PSU Jobs or Government Engineering Jobs, only in that case IIT Jammu Mechanical might be a good Option, though youll loose out on Campus Opportunities as well as a strong and diverse experience.

Can someone say correct and precise placement scenario of METALLURGY Dept. in IIT PATNA ?? Can I say that since we are getting this branch at 14.5k rank this branch may not be good ??

Purbayan Chatterjee 15th Sep, 2021

Hi Vivek,

The Metallurgy department in IIT Patna is quite a new branch. Moreover it is difficult to judge the placement scenario for so new a branch based on past details. Perhaps at the same rank, you might be making into Metallurgical Engineering at IIT BBSR, or Mining Machinery or Environmental at IIT ISM Dhanbad or Ceramic Engineering at IIT BHU. These have better placement prospects, you can try for these.

In case, you're not making any, you might consider IIT Patna for Metallurgy.

Hope this helps.

RF and Microwave in IIT kharagpur or VLSI and Embedded System in IIT Patna. Which one is better? Please explain.

Abhishek Roy 26th Jun, 2021

You might either select for RF & Microwave at IIT KGP and opt for sliding, incase you think you have better options like VLSI at some of the Top 8 IITs. Honestly speaking, RF & Microwave students have lower prospects when it comes to placements. You do have options still, but most of the Electronics Companies open for VLSI & Embedded Systems Stream. You still have options with Software, Analytics, Data Science, Edtech Firms and Startups, but youll have a very effective and interesting college life at KGP with its diverse culture and excellent faculty and research facilities. Incase youre planning Government Jobs, PSUs or joining Public Research Organizations like DRDO, ISRO, BARC, CSIR where effectively RF & Microwave Technology comes in real use, IIT KGP is the best place. Even if youre planning a PhD in future, this is the place for you.

what is AIR requared to get iit patna as a obc student of bihar?

Atif Ali 6th May, 2021

Hello,

To get admission into any of IITs, you will have to appear for JEE ADVANCED. To predict the proper rank is not possible as, Cutoffs fluctuates every single year. And Cutoffs are different for every branch. Cutoffs are Depends of various factors like-

1. Previous year Cutoffs trend

2. Number of seats in the courses offered by the Institutions

3. Number of Candidates appeared for the exam

4. Difficulty level of the question paper

As you're an OBC- NCL Candidate, You will have to score 9 as Minimum percentage of Marks in each Subjects, and you will have to score minimum 22.5 as Minmum percentage of Aggregate marks. This is the minimum percentage of Marks required for inclusion in JEE ADVANCED 2021 rank list

Please go through this link to see the minimum percentage as catehory and, previous year Cutoffs of IIT Patna (use this Cutoff for reference And predict your rank) as per branch and Category-

how much i score in advance to get iit patna cse in obc+home state quota?

Anurag Khanna 13th Feb, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

First of all let me make you clear that in IITs there is no reservation for Home state quota instead there is only All India quota and admission will be done only on the basis of your category or CRL rank.

As we go through the latest cut-off of 2020 then it shows that the closing rank for OBC category was 1108 for CSE branch in IIT Patna. See it is quite difficult to tell you about exact marks to score because for JEE-Advance no maximum marks are fixed but yes with regards to JEE-Advance 2021 if you secure your AIR in JEE-Advance under top 1100 in OBC category then there are good chances for you to get CSE branch in IIT Patna.

You can check out the latest cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of JOSAA and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

Which is better DTU electrical vs IIT BHU pharmacutical engineering vs IIT Patna metallurgy ?

Abhishek Roy 8th Jan, 2021

From view of career scope and prospects I would suggest you to prefer Electrical Engineering at Delhi Technological University over IIT BHU Pharmaceutical and IIT Patna Metallurgy. DTU has excellent infrastructure, faculty and research facilities and is one of the Best when it comes to Electrical Engineering in North India, next to IIT Delhi and IIT Roorkee. The institute has a very strong employer outlook and most of the Top Companies like Tata Motors, Texas Instruments, Adobe, Microsoft, Google, Intel are regular recruiters from Department of Electrical Engineering.

However, this is my perception, incase you are seriously interested in pursuing Engineering from One of the IITs  I would suggest you to prefer IIT BHU over IIT Patna, as you will have a better exposure and more opportunities. Secondly, Metallurgy is a good branch if taken in one of the Older IITs, whereas the MT Department at IIT Patna is just a couple of years old and lacks in experience, projects and expertise in faculty and research. At IIT BHU, you  will have a number of Non Core Opportunities in IT, Software, Finance and Analytics domains besides getting a fair chances to securw a Branch Change in first year, perhaps the grading system at IIT BHU is one of the Most relaxed among most IITs.

CSE in iit Patna Vs ECE in bubaneswar which is preferable

ginnisachdeva02_9364270 Student Expert 19th Nov, 2020

hey!

IITs are considered the best institues in India for engineering courses. ECE in IIT bhubneshwar is worth trying as the placement opportunities are very good , around 80% with maximum package of 32 LPA.

IIT Patna also provides good facilities to students , good placement opportunities are there, average package goe upto 5-6 LPA in companies like Amazon, Microsoft etc.

But if you wish to job in both Electrical industry and software field then you must join ECE and if you have interest only in software then join CSE.

Thankyou
