No it's not true . IIT Roorkee have msc courses in applied geology. Almost all IIT have this course including IIT Kharagpur IIT Bombay a nd IIT ism Dhanbad. If you have made your mind for IIT Roorkee then you should go for it. If not then I will suggest

The Indian Institute of Technology,Roorkee provides M.Tech courses in Structural Dynamics and the course is of 2 year duration. the admission is done through Gate entrance exam and 10% seats are provided without Gate exam to whose who score 8 cgpa on a scale of 10.
