Nil Choudhury Student Expert 26th Jun, 2019
Dear aspirant,
Many Bcom students opt maths as a 4th or optional subject. Or some totally replace it with other subjects like eco history or any other subjects available for swapping. Thus the core mentions that maths must be a primary subject throughout all the demisters or untill university has it available for your course as core subject.

I want to pursue Biotechnology in either IIT Guwahati or IIT Roorkee but I am unsure about what to do after that. Please suggest.

Sandipan_1560141883 Student Expert 25th Jun, 2019
Dear Aspirant,
Congratulations for cracking the JEE Main examination.
You have interest in Bachelor of Technology in biotechnology. You have interest in two particular Colleges called "Indian institute of technology, Guwahati"  and "Indian institute of technology, Roorkee".
Both Colleges are very good according to infrastructure, Faculty, study environment, laboratory, hostel, Research etc. Although both are IITs.
But you know that Indian institute of technology, Roorkee is a newer Indian institute of technology compared to Indian institute of technology, Guwahati.
So, I would suggest you to opt for Indian institute of technology, Guwahati. Because according to placement records IIT Guwahati is comparatively good rather than IIT Roorkee.
So hope for best.
Best of luck.

How are you expecting to get in IIT with mains rank.

Well if you had this rank in JEE advanced then also you weren't able to get a seat in IIT Roorkee.

Thank you
