I would like to say that, in any institute or college you may study, because every institutes have their own way of teaching, but if you want to know exactly that which is better, then you should ask the individuals who is or who was studying in that institute.

Hi Bhanwar, the cutoff varies every year based on various factors like number of seats available number of test takers difficulty level of exams etc. However going with the past years cutoff, you have very high chances to get through IIT Roorkee and very good chances to get through IIT Guwahati. The cutoffs range around 640 at IIT Guwahati and that around 580 in IIT Roorkee for VLSI course.

According to last year cut off for IIT ROORKEE  in Gate Architecture is 47.58 marks in general,44.06 for obc,32.05 for sc and 32.55 for st.

Cutt off may be slightly increased or decreased by some factors like difficulties of papers, the number of students participate in counseling/exam.

For IIT Guwahati VLSI might not be possible for you. It goes around 580 for SC.

You can get into Top NITs like NIT Trichy, NIT calicut.

The cutoff for the admission in the IIT Roorkee is based entirely on the GATE result.

The minimum scores required to get admission in the institute is the cutoff of GATE for IIT Roorkee.

The admission institute will set a standard cutoff which a candidate must meet to be eligible for the admission process.

As you have scored 346 ranks with a 561 score in the GATE examination, there is a very good chance that you would be able to get into IIT's.

But the only thing would be that there might be a possibility that you would not get the preferred branch.

Round 4 COAP score for SC was 529

You may have a chance in IIT Roorkee.

Good Score! Hard work Pays off! Yes you can easily get into any one of them you Mentioned 

1.IIT, Hyderabad(Microelectronics & VLSI/Last year Cutoff was 529)

2.IIT, Roorkee(Last year Cutoff was around 430)

3.IIT, Guwahati(Last year Cutoff was 375)

The thing is Cutoff Marks Changes Year by Year and Difference would be around 10-15 Marks So No worries you can easily get admit from them Since you've Good Score

Hi Prashant, the placements are very good basically in IITs. And doing an M.Tech can seriously land you in top notch companies with basically nice packages.

Firstly, coming to IIT Roorkee, the compabies that generally visit are, Qualcomm, Intel, Cisco, Cummings India Ltd. These companies offer an average package of 13-15 lpa. There are some companies like Analog Devices, for some specific courses with average around 10-12 lpa. Some companies like Eaton, Tata Motors recruit with average packages around 8-10 lpa. 

Secondly, IIT Indore, the above mentioned companies too go there but provide more or less same salary packages around. Here mostly software companies make in like Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft etc. And then come electronic companies like finisar, Intel etc. The packages are the same like the ones offered in IIT Roorkee.
