whether should I choose IIT Delhi maths and computing or IIT Bombay electrical engineering or IIT roorkee CSE.

Hello,

I hope you are doing good,

Without a doubt, CSE IITR. The IITR coding tradition is the highest in all the major episodes, the highest number of selections in GSOC (Google code type) in the world since IITR (except 2017, peak in IIITH) from 6 years ago. The IITR team always leads almost all iits. There is a very high number of tech groups in the IITR among all IITS.Previous year the highest package offered was 1.5 Cr from Microsoft and 1.4 Cr from Uber (100% placement).

In Fact Computer Science is a really good field to explore, you will not regret choosing it.

Sohana Khan 24th Oct, 2021

Hii Rajeev,

Hope you are doing good.

Well, 289 is a very secure and safe rank in JEE advanced.

Eligibility criteria for qualifying jee advanced:

Minimum 75% should have been secured in 12th standard (or equivalent) examination. For the SC/ST/PwD category, the aggregate marks is minimum 65% OR. The candidates should be within the top 20 category percentile of the qualifying examination.

Other than this, each every document should be clear and original. Even if you secure a good score in JEE advanced but there is some issue with the documents, it might lead to disqualification of your name.

So, I hope you got my point very well.

ASk if you have any further questions.

Best wishes ahead.

what should i chhose iit r iand p , civil , or ism electrical

pandeyadarsh951 20th Dec, 2021

If you focus solely on the branch then electrical will win and you have your answer but if you look in overall prospective then you will notice that iit roorkee has better brand value than ism dhanbad so the decision remains between i&p and civil where in terms of placements civil might win but i&p is a branch related to mechanical engineering and its applicability in future cannot be counted out. So at the end you have to choose but overall iitr civil or i&p both are good choices.

iit mandi cse or iit roorkee mechanical engineering?

divya 19th Oct, 2021

Hello,

Congratulations on getting such good college and branch options. I will give you a preference list which will comprise of all these factors:

  • Overall ranking
  • Infrastructure
  • Location/accessibility
  • Branch that you are been offered(Core/interdisciplinary)
  • Placement opportunities
  • Industry Exposure

The preference order you should consider is:

  1. IIT Mandi CSE
  2. IIT Roorkee Mechanical
  • IIT Roorkee should be choosen undoubtedly above IIT mandi because of the huge reputation the college holds.
  • IIT Roorkee has also launched new school of data science and artificial intelligence.
  • It has also entered QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022 with other IITs and IISc.

I would also like to add here that an engineering course should be very much taken with an interest in the field so I would suggest you to consider that factor and if you are not aware of the branches mentioned look them up on the internet more reliable will be to go through the syllabus on the respective colleges' website. An interest in the field is the key factor in deciding how your 4 years of college will be and what opportunities you will land for yourself.

Good luck, hope it helps!!

iit roorkee chemical engineering vs iit kanpur chemical engineering.

divya 19th Oct, 2021

Hello,

Hearty Congratulations on getting such good college and branch options. I will give you a preference list which will comprise of all these factors:

  • Overall ranking
  • Infrastructure
  • Location/accessibility
  • Branch that you are been offered(Core/interdisciplinary)
  • Placement opportunities
  • Industry Exposure

As a branch considering the current scenario and employability status I would suggest going for Chemical than Civil because of the following factors:

  1. Less Competition
  2. More opportunities
  3. More PSU recruitments
  4. Wide options to go interdisciplinary
  5. Huge scope for PhD abroad

Basically in these two colleges there is absolutely no difference or preference order that I can give here as both of them have excellent reputation, rankings, exposure, recognition and placements.

The only point of difference here is IIT Roorkee was established in 1857 and hence marks the oldest colleges of this country. The main campus and the namesake of IIT Roorkee is located in Roorkee City in Haridwar District in the state of Uttarakhand, India which is famous for it's Aqueducts and tourism so you can choose that according to your preference.

Otherwise you can be rest assured that at both the places you will have a great career growth.

Good luck, hope it helps!!

can i get iit roorkee biotech with a jee advanced rank of 2298(sc category)? or could you tell me all the IITs that i can get with this rank

pdwords Student Expert 18th Oct, 2021

Hello,

If we go through last year cut-offs at the end of round six of JOSAA counselling then the closing rank of BTech Biotechnology  in IIT Roorkie for SC (Gender Neutral) Category was 2070, hence the chances seem bit tough, though there are possibilities for following IITs with its respective branches:

IIT Bhubaneshwar - Metallurgical and Materials Engineering[2669]

IIT Mandi - Bio Engineering, BTech+MTech Dual Degree[2889], Engineering Physics[2605]

IIT Kharagpur - Agricultural and Food Engineering, Dual Degree[2695], Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering[2339], Exploration Geophysics[2909], Mining Engineering[2320]

IIT Jodhpur - Bio Engineering[2821], Chemical Engineering[2424], Civil and Infrastructure Engineering[2314]

IIT BHU Varanasi - Ceramic Engineering[2939], Metallurgical Engineering[2311], Mining Engineering[2761], Pharmaceutical Engineering[2934]

you can check out at https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx to know more details regarding this, however this is completely based on previous year data, and cut-offs vary every year based on various factors such as seat matrix, toughness level of the paper, total number of candidates appearing for the exam, etc,

to know more detailed information regarding admission possibilities in various IITs and its respective branches , you can use our JEE Advanced College Predictor at https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-advanced-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

can with GATE XE score and B.TECH in FOOD TECHNOLOGY i can apply for IISC Banglore/IIT BOMBAY/IIT ROORKEE??

Rohit Magdum 17th Oct, 2021
Dear aspirant,

After doing Msc. everytging depends upon your knowledge. If you dont have complete knowledge then clear all your basic and learn each and everything by giving at least 2 years since physics is a very strong and wo derful subject.

After the complete knowledge of physics you can prefer the competative examination which ISRO used to organize periodically every year.

After the exams you need to give interview which will test your complete knowledge of physics which will be based on Numericals portion.

Hopefully this will help you.
Thank you.

is iit roorkee .. metallurgy good?

darshita 16th Oct, 2021

Hello,

IIT Roorkee is the 7th institution established among the IIT institutions. IIT Roorkee is one of the oldest and the biggest institutes of technical education in the country, hosting 21 Academic Departments, 1 Academic Centre, 3 Centres of Excellence, 5 Academic Service Centres and 3 Supporting units.Around 80 percent of the students were placed in this college. The highest package CTC was about 35 Lacs per annum and average was 13 Lacs per annum. Most of the company offered the roles for software developer, data Science, data analyst and graphic designer roles in Roorkee.

There are basic facilities available not very good nor bad. If you are going for fun and games this is not the varsity for you. And the faculty is not approachable as well.

Hope this helps!!

hi Im am planning to choose IIT Roorkee metallurgy ..but i have one doubt will i be able to sit in non core companies?..after learning coding and all.??

Anuj Kumar 16th Oct, 2021

Hi,

The Placement criteria mostly depends on company. Many Technology Companies may set criteria that students from CSE and IT can only apply for them while many also have no such pre requisite. Companies like Microsoft, Google , Facebook have no such criteria. Any student can apply for their placement exams. However sometimes, College can itself impose restrictions on other branch student although that happens very less often.. If you know coding then definitely you have better chances of getting good package.

I hope this will answer your query.

Thanks!!!!
