CSE at older nits will carry the legacy but cse at new iits may not have the legacy right now but they will always have that brand and one's they are old enough they would beat even older nits thanks to the heavy funding received by the government. Brand name of an iit will always remain with you for life that would also give you an edge in placements and higher studies but at the moment you can choose older nits as well owing to fierce coding environment and the brand name and legacy they have made by now.

Honestly considering dear, if you wish to pursue your B.Pharm studies from Orissa then you have to sit for OJEE Examination, but there is another way, if you have appeared for JEE Mains Examination then around 10% of the total seats of any college is allotted for students who are Mains Qualified. So these two way will help you to take admission into B.Pharma Course.

The placement record for CSE branch is any college is the best as compared to other branches and almost all the students of the branch are placed easily in some or the other company.

CSE at IIT Ropar is very good, It has very good packages and good research opportunities. Considering CSE placements 2019, 96% students were placed. Companies like Amazon, Google, Flipkart, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs were top recruiters. Major role was of data analysts. the highest package was 85 LPA, Dubai Average package was 18 LPA Least was around 10lpa offered to our course. Almost 40% get internship in companies mentioned above, remaining 60% also got internship in good companies.

I will suggest to go for IIT ropar or IIT mandi and study coding IIT will provide you oppotunites and if you do not want to study coding the i will suggest to go for NIT rourkela as the placement of electronic branch are good .

I would undoubtedly choose nit Warangal or nit surathkal computer science branch as iit Ropar definitely comes under the premier institute brand name IIT but as it is a newer iit and cannot be compared to nit surathkal or warangal.

It's not like this that iit Ropar is bad in placements but if we compare to the iit brand it is not like what an iit should be.

The placements at warangal or surathkal are very good. The average package of these colleges in computer science branch stays between 18-20L. In case of IIT Ropar the placements is not upto the mark. The average stays between 14-15L.

IIT Ropur has overall  84.96% placement in 2019-2020 . The average salary is 15.85 LPA . Power Engineering comes under Electrical Engineering which has 85.71% placement rate this season.Electrical is the second most highesdt placement rate just behind CSE in IIT Ropur.
