IIT Ropar is a good college. The placements of CSE for IIT stands the best here. Going by the statistics, IIT Ropar have the best placements among all newer IITs and better than some older IITs like BHU, Guwahati. Though, placements completely depend on individual efforts. I consider IIT Ropar CSE to be equally good as CSE in older IITs and some highly performing newer IITs like Hyderabad and Indore and also other facilities in the college like canteen, library is great though also it has good infrastructure and teachers are well trained and professional.

As per the previous year data, it seems that the average salary is upto 12-14 lakh PA and the highest package went to 17.45 lakhs.

But if you are studying with this mindset of package and salary then it is not good. Studying in IIT with good focus and utmost dedication will definitely land you to a good job with a good salary.

Focus on studies and work hard on your goals.

Hello there. Hope you are doing good. I would like to tell you that as per the placement statistics, college cutoffs, companies visiting the campus and many other factors, out of the three that you have mentioned. The ranking would be 1. IIT Indore 2. IIT Gandhinagar 3. IIT Ropar.

Both the colleges are best at thier own place. But IIT Dhanbad has been established in 1926 and more number of batches has been passed out till date, if you will see in that aspect IIT Dhanbad has more number of students intake and faculty members than IIT Ropar. Both has better in-campus facility. Further CS is a good branch that too you are getting in IIT Dhanbad, so I think you should go for Dhanbad.

IIT ROPAR has 4 hostel building, but still four students have to share one room, in few case its two student but it is very rare.

Its near to impossible to get a single room in IIT ropar...!

In the year 2019 the sc rank cutoff for JEE advanced in IIT Ropar was 1977 for mechanical engineering. The approximated rank vs marks chart is given below,

SEE CUTOFF score changes every year and it depends on certain factors like number of applicants, questions difficulty level, seat matrix, students category, choice of stream etc. jee advance is one of the toughest exam and it is quite difficult to predict which score would be the cutoff. however getting more than 70 % score out of total has decent chances in selection. you may follow the below link to know about branch wise cutoff score,

I understand your dilemma, but in my opinion just do your best and do not look at such marks.  Prepare at the mark of your 100% so that you can get best college in every possible way. Just do as hard work as you can. However you can use career360 college pridicter for it.

There are lots of factor depends on cutoff.

Like difficulty of paper, no of participants and many more.

IIT ropar courses w ith the highest cutoff in 2019 and 2018 include BTech Computer Science & Engineering, BTech Mathematics & Computing and BTech Electrical Engineering.

On the other hand,with lowest cutoffs in 2019 and 2018 include BTech Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, BTech Civil Engineering and BTech Chemical Engineering.
