Hello dear
For admission to 5-year BS-MS Dual Degree program
There are three channels of admission.
Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) channel
Joint Entrance Examination of Indian Institutes of Technology (JEE) channel
State and Central Boards Channel (SCB) channel
KVPY Channel
Candidates having a valid KVPY fellowship commencing from that particular academic session are eligible to apply for admissions. Additional cut off criteria may be applicable.
JEE Channel
Candidates securing a rank within a cut-off decided by the IISER Joint Admission Committeein the Common Rank List (CRL) of JEE Advanced are eligible to apply. For candidates belonging to reserved category (OBCNC, SC, ST, PD), their category rank should be within that cut-off.
SCB Channel
Students who have passed (10+2) level with science stream with marks equal or above the cut off percentage in their respective boards as decided by the IISER Joint Admission Committeeare eligible to apply. For the candidates belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer of the Other Backward Classes (OBCNC) and Persons with Disability (PD) categories, there is a 5% relaxation. The cut-off percentage for the Scheduled Castes (SC), the Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Kashmiri Migrants (KM) candidates is 55% in (10+2) level for all boards. Students applying through SCB channel will have to appear in the IISER Aptitude Testwhich will be conducted at various centres across the country.
Hi Gauri,
There are other options because obviously result will be out in the mid of May.
What you can do is contact the officials and check if they can accept the Pre-boards result which you had in Jan or Dec most probably.
Or you can ask if they accept Mid term class 12 result in case you haven't given you Pre-boards.
Good Luck !!!
Hi,
If you are applying through SCB (State and Central Boards) channel, you will have to appear in the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT). IISERs do not release cutoffs, you just get to know whether you are selected or not. But according to estimates, for general category students, a score of 110/180 is good enough to get in IISER Pune and Kolkata. To get into other IISERs like Berhampur, Bhopal, Mohali, Thiruvananthapuram and Tirupati, a student has to score atleast 70/180.
You will also have to pass 10+2 exam with science stream in 2018/19 and clear the board cutoff. Check your board cutoff at the official site: https://www.iiseradmission.in/eligibility/#E480.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
Hello!
