Sir I got 88.8%mark in 12 or 430/500 .lam study in Kerala board and obc non creamy. Can I able to apply iiser

Jyoti Mishra 10th Apr, 2019

Hello,

Students are admitted into IISER through 3 channels-

1. State and central board channel

2. KVPY channel

3. JEE advanced

For applying in IISER through state or central board channel, students must have passed 10+2 or any equivalent level exam with science stream in 2018 to 2019 with a minimum cut off marks depending on the state/central board and on the category in  which the student belongs to.

For students who have passed their 10+2 from Kerala board and Belong to the OBC-NCL (non creamy layer), cut off marks is 425/500. So congratulations, you are eligible to apply for IISER.

For any other information regarding eligibility, please refer to the following official site.

All the best!

I got 88.8% in 12 or430/500 .l am obc non creamy. Can I able to apply for iiser?

Sunny Alok 9th Apr, 2019

Hi dear..

There are 3 possible ways for getting admission in IISER.

1. Through KVPY

2.Through JEE MAINS & Advance

3.If you are in top 1% of your respective central or state board (cut off percentage is mentioned on the iiser website) then you are eligible to give the iiser aptitude test. If you score well in the aptitude test and qualify the cutoff then you get the admission.

Since, you have mentioned that you scored 430 marks. In this case, you will have to appear for Aptitude test for getting admission, also you have to be in top 1%(only then, you should apply for IISER).

Best of luck :)

Its seen that iiser is conducting scb 2019 on june2 but im appearing for jipmer 2019 on the same date. How can i appear for scb?

Indranand Student Expert 8th Apr, 2019

In that case you have to decide which exam you want to give and want to pursue. Both the tests are national level and there are many students like you who will will be missing the exam. Try to mail the administration of both the exams informing about your case and giving an argument that many students will be losing an opportunity. They might consider the case and change the schedule before it's too late. One more thing, JIPMER schedule is tentative, that means if any problem arises they can consider it. Make the case clear as soon as possible.

All the best.

Adrija Sarkar 6th Apr, 2019

Hi,

Yes you can get admission in IISER if you pass 10+2 with Science stream in 2018 or 2019. To take admission in B.Tech program at an IISER, you will have to clear one of the three given below:

1. Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) - You need a valid KVPY fellowship.

2. Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced) of the Indian Institutes of Technology - You have to secure a rank with 10,000 of JEE Advanced, if you are a General category student.

3. State and Central Boards (SCB) - You have to appear for IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2019 and obtain the cutoff marks.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Can I get admission in iiser by neet marks if yes then what was the procedure and expectedly how much marks is needed?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 6th Apr, 2019

Dear Aditi, admission to IISER can be done only through 3 channels namely KVPY, SCB and JEE. NEET is not a valid entrance examination for admission to IISER colleges. NEET is the emtrance examination for admission to Medical, Dental and Ayush colleges across India. In addition to that, NEET scores are considered for Veterinary Sciences. For more information on IISER and its admission process, please visit their page at: https://www.iiseradmission.in/eligibility/
