I qualify the iit jam chemistry exam .My AIR is 7153 and i belong to sc category so is there any chance to get admission in iiser pune?

Jojo Jyoti 22nd Mar, 2019
The elibility criteria for getting admission in Integrated Ph.D in  IISER Pune given on the official website is as follows:

Eligibility Criteria1. Students with minimum (55% or equivalent CGPA in aggregate for SC/ST and PD candidates  (overall percentage; not only in majoring subject) in B.Sc. (General / B.Sc. majoring in Chemistry, Physics & Biology) and qualifying additional criteria as given below can apply for Integrated Ph.D. Program in Chemistry starting August 2019. Candidates who are in the final year of qualifying degree, who have appeared/about to appear for the final exams can also apply for Int. PhD program. If selected for admission to the program, the candidate will be given provisional admission subjected to completing the qualifying degree, as per the criteria specified above, before August 1, 2019.

 AND

2. Candidates with rank No. 800 or less in JAM (Chemistry) 2019 can apply for the Integrated PhD program in Chemistry.
As it says you will have to score less than 800 ,I am really sorry to say that with an AIR of 7153 you can not get an admission in IISER Pune.

I got AIR 3352 in IIT JAM maths in sc category . Is there any chance of getting admission to any IISER or NIT

Neha Mohanty 21st Mar, 2019

Hello Yadukrishna,

IISER generally accepts a rank below 5000 for reserved category students. It has gone up till 10000, but below 5000 scores is considered to be a high chance. So, you might be getting a call from IISER.

Your chances of getting a call from NIT is also high, but not from all NITs.

Hope this helps. All the best!

Good evening sir, Sir, now I am persuing integrated ty b.sc biotechnology. Can I take admission for M.sc in IISER. If applicable, which subje

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 19th Mar, 2019

Dear Tabaan, when you say you are studying Integrated B.Sc Biotechnology course, isnt it a 5 year B.Sc+M.Sc course? And once you are done with B.Sc, you want to study M.Sc in IISER? We are afraid it doesnt work that way. The Integrated course is for 5 years and you are awarded your degree and certificates of course completion post the course which is 5 years. But please check with your Institution if they offer degree certificates post the completion of B.Sc. If yes, you may as well give it a try.

Can I directly write exam without appearing jee (mains)

Srikanth Ganna 27th Jan, 2019
Hello ..
  • If you want to get an admission in IISER in 2019 the admission process will be taken through three channels. They are :
  • 1.KVPY
  • 2.SCB
  • 3.JEE
If you want to get admission through JEE and KVPY you can get the admission directly but if you want to get the admission through SCB you should write an aptitude test.
If you are KVPY(Kishore vaigyanik protsahan Yojana) valid fellowship you will get direct admission.
So if you are not a KVPY fellowship you can go for SCB
