Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research Aptitude Test
Dear Arpit, There are three channels of admission. Candidates will be admitted to IISER only through these channels.
Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) channel
Joint Entrance Examination of Indian Institutes of Technology (JEE) channel
State and Central Boards Channel (SCB) channel
These channels will be referred to as KVPY, JEE and SCB respectively. Indian nationals, and students belonging to PIO or OCI category are eligible to apply provided they satisfy the eligibility criteria described below.
KVPY Channel
Candidates having a valid KVPY fellowship commencing from 2019-20 academic session are eligible to apply for admissions. Additional cut-off criteria may be applicable.
JEE Channel
Candidates in General category securing a rank within 10000 in the Common Rank List (CRL) of JEE Advanced 2019 are eligible to apply. For candidates belonging to reserved category (OBCNC, SC, ST, PD), their category rank should be within 10000.
SCB Channel
Students who have passed (10+2) level with science stream in 2018 or 2019 with marks equal or above the cut-off percentage in their respective boards as given in the table below are eligible to apply.
Students applying through SCB channel will have to appear in the IISER Aptitude Test which will be conducted at various centres across the country.

There are three channels available for admission into IISERs:
Candidates who have cleared their Class XII in Science stream are eligible to apply for IISER entrance exam 2018.As per IISER entrance exam pattern there are a total of 60 objective questions that candidates need to complete in three hours duration.
IISER admission 2019 will be conducted through three channels- KVPY, SCB and JEE. An aptitude test will be conducted for the candidates opting for SCB channel while the candidates seeking admission through other two channels will be eligible to take direct admission. Really great. You can learn basics to get good score because you are pcm so that they know you are not well in that so you have to learn basics. Biology is a general awareness so need to know about this also. So you have to start learning of biology. All the best.
There are 7 iiser institute in india and they are present in states like odisha, madhya pradesh, west bengal, punjab, maharashtra, kerala and andhra pradesh.
the admissions in these institutes are not easy and some additional cut off scores of kvpy fellowship or jee advanced rank within 10,000 may be applied.
The admissions process will start in april 2019 and the computer based test will likely be held in june 2019.

IISER 2019 merit list is prepared separately for candidates who have applied through JEE Advanced 2019, KVPY and IISER 2019 Aptitude Test. 50% seats are reserved for candidates taking admission through IISER entrance examination. The cutoff marks for each course is different. Thus, candidates must be careful while checking the IISER cutoff list for a particular course.
IISER aptitude test carries total 180 marks.
IISER Aptitude Test 2018 cutoff was 77.9% i.e. 140.22
For SCB channel i.e. IISER aptitude test, 5% cut off relaxation is provided to OBC (NCL), SC, ST, KM & PD categories.

The aptitude test of IISER will be conducted for the aspiring candidates who will opt for Admissions through SCB board. Apart from IISER admission aptitude test, the candidates can also opt for IISER Admissions through KVPY and JEE Advanced .

The question paper of the aptitude test of IISER has three sections – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
The question paper of aptitude test will be of total 3 hours (180 minutes).
The sectional weightage of IISER Admissions includes 15 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
3 marks will be awarded for each correct answer option, while no negative mark will be awarded for incorrect answers.
Yes, biology is compulsory for Iiser. Number of question asked from biology would be 14 with maximum marks if 45.
