My rank in IMUCET is 3756.Will I Get any government college with this rank?

DEEPALI KIR 7th Jun, 2019
Hello Chitransh,
You will not able to get IMU Kolkata with this rank nor IMU mumbai. Witn this rank you can get admission in TS Rahman for BSC nautical science, IMI noida for Btech and DNS.But you can take admission in IMU affiliated institutes. Or you can try in private colleges.

Hope this helps.
Good Luck.

What is the qualification marks

shwetasaini505_9233227 Student Expert 30th May, 2019

Hello Malatesh,

No one really knows the qualifying marks for IMU CET which is the exam that you need to give to get admission into Indian Maritime University.

As the results, the students only get a PDF file with their rank, name, application number and category. This rank is their All India Rank and they select students upto a certain rank.

This cut-off rank depends on several factors like

  • Number of students appearing for the exam
  • Number of seats available
  • Difficulty level of the exam

The IMU CET exam is of 200 marks so to be on the safer side, you should aim for scoring above 75% so that you'll have higher chances of getting admission.

You can go through the below link for more information-

Hope this helps.

In 12th Mark sheet Physics and Chemistry is must to appear CET exams? can I eligible to appear/complete Merchant Navy without Science Subje

Aryaman Tewari 29th May, 2019
Yes you are eligible to appear for Merchant Navy without belonging to the Science stream. But do keep in mind, that this is only when you want to be a 'rating' and not an officer.

To become an officer, you will have to have Maths and Physics in your background specifically. And for 'rating' eligibility, you need to pass class 10th.

General Purpose 'Ratings' can choose to work in the Deck Department or the Engine Department.

Good luck!
