I wanted to know i am from ignou 2025 jan batch persuing masters . Will i be able to get into mphil programme by the time i finish masters

Hello,

If you are pursuing your master’s from IGNOU (January 2025 batch), you will become eligible to get into M.Phil. or Ph.D. programme only after completing your master’s degree successfully with the required minimum percentage which is (usually 55%).

However, you should know that as per the latest UGC regulations, M.Phil. programmes have been discontinued in most of the universities across India, and admissions are now being offered directly to the Ph.D. programmes based on NET/JRF scores or university entrance tests.

Hey there,

Masters from IGNOU January 2025, you probably will be done with it late 2026 or early 2027. Still, M.Phil won't be an option as per the new education policy (NEP 2020), it has been abolished.

A great majority of universities including IGNOU have already ceased M.Phil courses. In fact, after your masters completion with minimum 55% marks (or 50% for a reserved category), you are eligible to submit your application for doctoral research directly, not M.Phil. Moreover, only qualifying in the entrance test and interview will be your next step.

Hello,

Thank you for your question!

IGNOU does not offer MSc Zoology as a regular program.

IGNOU mainly provides MSc in Life Science, Environmental Science, and other distance learning programs, but Zoology (regular specialization) is not available. If you want to pursue MSc Zoology, you’ll have to look at state universities like MDU Rohtak, Kurukshetra University, DU, BHU, AMU, etc.

Not qualifying for Delhi’s D.El.Ed. isn’t the end of your teaching career plans. Haryana’s D.El.Ed. is recognized by NCTE and is a valid route to becoming a primary school teacher. Many students from outside Haryana apply and get admission, though you should note that some seats are reserved for Haryana domicile candidates. Your plan to do B.A. from IGNOU alongside D.El.Ed. is very smart—it keeps you academically progressing and later makes you eligible for B.Ed., which will open doors for teaching in higher classes as well. Make sure you check the Haryana Board’s eligibility criteria before applying and confirm if your preferred institute offers quality teaching practice and internships. My name in adhaar card/bank account is different than my 10th/12th certificate. Adhaar/Bank has shaikh at last. 10th/12th have shaikh in the front. Ive taken admission in IGNOU, it doesnt match my adhaar. So i have discrepancy in abc id and adhaar name. Plus I didnt attach my fathers name with my name in IGNOU so it doesnt match my 10th/12th board name also. I can get the IGNOU name fixed. Im getting an affidavit. But is it wiser to change my adhaar name to match my 10th/12th name or should I change my graduation name to match my adhaar name?

Your 10th and 12th certificates have Shaikh at the beginning, but your Aadhaar and bank have it at the end. IGNOU used the Aadhaar name, so your graduation name doesn’t match school records, and even ABC ID isn’t linking.

It's better to match your graduation name with your 10th and 12th, since those are used for most verifications. You can update your Aadhaar later using an affidavit and supporting documents. This will avoid issues in jobs and higher studies.
