B Design courses in multimedia are a better option to learn animation.There are many courses of animation in india and few places are doing really great.

First of all, there is a separate Department Called Multimedia which comes under school of design III. This Department has well equipped labs with high end workstations and it has gaming studios also where students can play and test the games on playstation, PC and x box platform.

Multimedia students of LPU has campus placements in companies like Amazon ( as 3d Artist), Rockstar games, Kony India, xentrix studio, Dq entertainment, Prime focus, Green gold animation and so on with maximum packages of 8 lakh per annum and average packages are 5 lakh per annum.

Faculties are well experienced and specialised and everyone from industry having more than 8 to 10 years of experience in their respective field.

The world is of all-rounders. While it is a good thing to look for specialisations, most of the success stories of designers have witnessed them switching and acing fortes. I'd strongly recommend you to look for B.Des programme in Interdisciplinary Design, where you will be able to concentrate on various aspects of design, rather than restricting to just one specialisation. 

B.Des in Interdisciplinary Design at JK Lakshmipat University is one programme, led by A. Balasubramaniam, one of the most prominent designers of India.

JK Lakshmipat University is the philanthropic initiative of the 125-year-old JK Organisation. You can go through their information at www.jklu.edu.in and apply for their entrance exam.

If you have a creative bent of mind you can definitely achieve what you desire specially in terms of designing.

You need to know some softwares such as Adobe InDesign , photoshop , illustrator , quarkxpress , flash , dream viewer

If you have bca in animations & graphics it's best one , otherwise you can write entrance for pursuing bachelor in graphic design for top institutes . Also best way is to join some renowned institutes which provide small period time for such courses.
