Hey there!

I regret to inform you that based on previous year data available about the cutoffs of M.S. Ramaiah your admission in information sciences doesn't seem feasible. You can look into other great colleges which accept kcet ranking and other branches as well. Hope this helps.

What is the difference between Cs and information technology or information science? Please suggest,If I get admission in top college for information science and if I get admission in third top college for Cs then for which option should I go?

Aishwary Jaiswal 30th Aug, 2020

hello aspirant,

information technology and computer science differs by only one subject in most of the colleges curriculums.

computer science is a vast subject .it is about using mathematics to program systems to run more efficiently, and information technology is more about installing, maintaining, and improving computer systems, operating networks .

at the end of the career, you need to see that where are placed and settled properly with a good package.

you can opt for the college that offers better placement . go for that particular college.

hope that helps

i have tried to find the difference b/w conputer science engg and information science engg..but i couldnt..but most of the colleges in karnataka offers comp science to them with higher ranking in ug kcet , but a little lower ranking for information science engg in ug kcet. why? And which is better?

Nitya 5th Oct, 2020
Hello,
The major difference between the two is.
  1. Computer science engineering is based on software as well as hardware knowledge.
  2. And IT/Information Science and Engineering deals with software development and research. It consists of topics of topics related to Information management, Information security, Software engineering, Computer Science, web scripting etc.
  3. IT/ISE is a part of CSE.
And in Indian Education System, syllabus for both the branches are almost same except few subjects, so if you have choice between the two, you can go with any of the branch.
Placement wise, the students of both the branches sits together, and the package offered is also almost same.

im was a pcmb student in 11th and 12th in karnataka..but i felt that computer science is less interesting b4 but now i think its interesting and will i be able master in computer/information science engineering?? Give me some tips..how should i handle it??

Sreeja Siva 5th Oct, 2020

Hi,

If you are interested in the subject then you should go for it. You are eligible for Btech course in computer science. A prior knowledge in computer science is not mandatory for pursuing engineering in computer science. You learn from the basics itself once you enroll in the course. To get admissions in merit seats of engineering colleges you should meet up with eligible criteria prescribed in the official website of respective colleges such as percentage of marks in 10+2, minimum marks required in entrance exams (if any) etc. To know more about colleges and courses please go through the following article
