I think you have to go for iem Kolkata because it is better than others in terms of placement and internship.many top companies are coming there for recruiting students.it focus on overall development of students.so, you have to go for it.

In terms of placements, I feel that IEM has an upper hand in the non-core field. The reason being the presence of an active T&P Cell of IEM, So, if you're thinking of pursuing CSE/ECE/IT branch, IEM may be a better choice.

Hi Bibhay Singh, If it's lateral entry in engineering then u must have a diploma in engineering or BSc with maths.

If u can fulfill dis criteria then you can go for WBJEE, JELET exam through which u can get admission in IEM, Kolkata in ECE stream.

i m sorry to say you rank is quite high to meet the requirements of this college while i suggest you just apply for it in every round in case you might get but as per last year cut off in mechanical closing rank is 6928 to know more check the below link

JELET is for admission in 2nd year of B.Tech that is Lateral Entry. If you have completed your diploma with good percentage and you scored well in JELET then you are eligible for IEM.

IEM is the best private college in West Bengal. It has got the best faculty, decent placement, decent infrastructure, sufficient facilities and gives the highest package then all the Pvt colleges in West Bengal.IEM has no comparison with any other Pvt college, at least in West Bengal.

Calcutta University has extremely good Natural Science Dept, the best in INDIA. In undergraduate ( B.Sc . Hons) many colleges of Calcutta University (BA/BSc taught in College) have very good Natural Science Dept. MSc is taught in Calcutta University only. Relaxed but at the same time has rigor in teaching. Little old fashioned, yearly exam, not nonsense semester system. You will enjoy learning.

Both the branches have great job prospects in present as well as future. Both the colleges are good. Now it depends upon you, which branch you are interested. As far as placement is concerned, the highest package at IEM till date is Rs.15.5 LPA and average package is Rs.4-6 LPA. The highest package at Techno India till date is Rs.14.5 LPA and average package is Rs.3-5 LPA. Placements are almost similar in these colleges.
