I am Sagnik Mondal. I am General caste candidate. My Jee Main 2021 score is 89.01 percentile. My CBSE class 10 percentage is 93 . CBSE class 12 percentage is 88 . I am permanent resident of West Bengal. I want to get CSE in IEM. Is that possible ?

Ayush Roy 22nd Sep, 2021

Hello Sagnik. You mentioned you are from general category and your JEE Main percentile is 89.01. Based on your percentile your rank may lie within the range of 112428 - 126385. Its better you mention your exact CRL-AIR in the comment box below so that I can give you an exact answer.

Nevertheless, for the sake of answering your question, I have provided the 2019 JEE Main Cutoff Rank prescribed for admission to various streams at Institute of Engineering and Technology for Home State candidates :

  1. B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering - Cutoff 21020
  2. B.Tech Electrical Engineering - Cutoff 64207
  3. B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering - Cutoff 52846
  4. B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering - Cutoff 45492
  5. B.Tech Information Technology - Cutoff 36368
  6. B.Tech Mechanical Engineering - Cutoff 63219

Your 10th and 12th board exam results are good, so you need not to worry about that. But, if you have really secured a rank within the range 112428 - 126385 then you have less chance to get admission to any stream at IEM, Kolkata.

If you have attempted WBJEE 2021 and you think your WBJEE result is better than that of JEE Main then feel free to share those details with us. We will analysis the data and tell you whether you have any chance to grab a seat based on your WBJEE result.

Is B P Poddar Institute is better option for CSE than IEM & Heritage at present?

Suchana Datta 5th Sep, 2021

Hi,

Heritage Institute of Technology

  1. Huge campus, great infrastructure, probably good faculties.
  2. Many streams and disciplines to choose from.
  3. Playgrounds, to keep you sporty.
  4. Big canteen
  5. Serene environment and lot of empty area near about to hang out without reasons
  6. Good placements and alumni network
  7. Many fests and competitions
  8. High probability you will end up at TCS

B. P. Poddar Institute of Management & Technology

  1. Situated nearby Airport
  2. Widely available transportation facility to and from anywhere in the world
  3. Haldirams, Eco Park, CC2, Mehk are just minutes away, bunking classes won’t be boring
  4. Quite decent faculties, all are M. Tech., but you will mostly need the lab assistants
  5. Each batch (I have seen 6 almost), would have 10% nerds, 10% cazz people, 80% don’t know why they are there
  6. Fests and celebrations are rare, so lots of time to study and focus on your career.
I didn’t even get my farewell.
  7. Decent placement record.
CTS. Infy. CapG. E&Y. Bosch. And others.
  8. Canteen is small, administration suggests you visit library in lunch hours
  9. In terms of campus & infrastructure they KISS, kept it small and simple
Just 3 buildings to roam about, with total 18 floors
No playground, No big auditoriums, No grandeur construction

IEM is the best private institute & oldest in Eastern India.

they provides best education and also they are offering multiple job opportunities to the students every year since 1989. Highest placement record and highest percentage of placement happening every year comparing with other colleges. IEM have a very good industry exposure , sending their students to MNCs for internships and industrial trainings . IEM is very strict to maintain their discipline as a student must have to keep very good attendance. recently they have tied up with amazon and top 5 companies like Tcs, wipro, cognizant, accenture, capgemini are recruits a huge number students every year with exciting salary pacakages. Many more companies are there also for Management students. so as an Engineering and Management college IEM is the best from the best of my knowledge.

Hope this helps

Wish you luck
