Yes , lots of good wishes for your upcoming journey , if you consider the last few years cut-offs , the tfw rank that you secured is within the closing rank of Computer Science Engineering , but yes you will be able to take up admission only if the tfw quota seats remain vacant , so I would suggest you there are other options available like Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, you can also try for them to increase your chances of admission. Incase youre interested in ECE, want to pursue a MTech or Masters in future, and are inclined towards research or Core Electronics Study, prefer Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata over IEM and Techno India. Heritage has excellent faculty, infrastructure and an excellent culture for students aspiring research. Many alumini have moved on to higher technical institutes like IIT Kharagpur, IISc Bangalore for Masters/MTech/MS followed by excellent career scope and prospects in the Electronics Sector.
Incase youre simply interested in securing an IT/Software Placement with TCS, Infosys, Accenture and many others who are regular recruiters, perhaps prefer IEM Kolkata, having much stronger Coding Culture and better Placements including many Mass Recruiters regularly recruiting from Campus.

This can be contradictory to some but I would suggest you to go for KGEC IT course instead of IEM IT. See IEM may show different stats about the placements and student feels it lucrative but in general the average packages aren't that good. So if you draw the case of most probable job type then the package you will recieve in the campus placement of IEM will be lesser than that of KGEC. Also KGEC have really good alumni's and many companies such as Cognizant, Accenture, TCS, WIPRO, Zack Analytics and Research etc visit every year and recruits students with good packages. So if you pursue the course from KGEC not only you will save money, but you will be able to get the job package which will definitely be better than that of IEM.
Now its your choice, but statistically speaking KGEC will be more statistically efficient.

I hope this answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!
Dear aspirant,
Both the colleges are good at its own place. But the cut offs is higher in iem kolkata rather than heritage institute of technology. It is considered to be the 2nd best college after Jadavpur University.
Iem kolkata is better if compared to heritage because the placements are better , the faculty too is better. Furthermore , iem is very strict when it comes to discipline. If you are planning to have a chilled out hostel Life then forget it, you would be staying in utmost discipline.

Hi aspirant, since you have 85 percentile in JEE mains so according to your rank it seems difficult that you can get CSE branch In Institute of Engineering and Management untill you belong to any reservation category.
Also you may get other branches except CSE like Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic and Communication Engineering etc .
You can opt any of them.
Thank You.
