Hello,
Both IEM and Heritage are known as good colleges with quality placements. However, there is still an upper edge of Heritage over IEM when it comes to quality of teaching in BTech courses, especially BTech CSE. This is because, Heritage is traditionally known to provide quality education in technical fields, but, IEM is more reputed as a Management institute, though its technical school has also gained reputation in the past few years.
As far as placements are concerned, both of them have achieved above 90% placement in CSE department in recent years. While the average placement package of Heritage ranges between INR 5-6 LPA, the average placement package of IEM ranges between INR 4-6 LPA in BTech. The top recruiters from both of these colleges include MNCs like TCS, Wipro, etc. Elite companies like Microsoft have also selected a few students from these colleges.
But, both these colleges are very strict in attendance. Attending at least 75% of the classes are compulsory to be eligible to appear in examination.
As per your percentile your overall rank will be around 42966 - 48300.
The previous year JEE Main cut off for general category candidates in electrical engineering in IEM is:
Remember that the cut off rank varies each year. So, as you can see your chance is low to get electrical in IEM. Also, the final rank of JEE main will be calculated based on the best performance of a candidate in all of his attempts. So, you have plenty of opportunity to improve your rank in the up coming phases of JEE Main.

Hi, I believe BIBS will be the better option. they have a dedicated placement Cell, continuously working to provide the best placement opportunities to their students. In a very systematic way BIBS maintain the steps, Placement evaluation test then, Pre Placement Talk, Summer Placement and finally Final Placement. They have three tier placement process, Local Network, National Presence & International Reach.
Most importantly BIBS lays a lot of importance on grooming and preparing the students for the challenges of the corporate world.
Institute of Engineering and Management is one of the best institutes in the Country for Engineering and Management programmes. However IEM offers Management programmes but the placements for MBA and PGDM are not so impressive compared to the placement statistics of Engineering branches there. Both MBA and PGDM have almost same placement record. Around 70% students from MBA and PGDM get placed in renowned companies such as TCS, Vivo, PWC, Asian Paints, FMCG Companies, Ekart, Karvy, Swiggy, Hathway etc with an average package of 6 LPA. You can check out this link for more details on placements in IEM https://www.careers360.com/colleges/institute-of-engineering-and-management-kolkata/placement
Institute of Engineering & Management (IME), Kolkata students were interviewed together during its placements (January 2020).
The highest placement was offered 6.5 Lacs and the lowest was 1.8 Lacs. Overall placement in this college is quite good. Almost 90% placement offered for marketing and finance students.

Army Institute of Management has always maintained an excellent placement award since it’s inception.
90% of students got placed. Average package 6 lacs. Bajaj allianz, mother dairy, emami agrotech, mahindra finance were top recruiting companies. The placement record is almost 100%.
Both are equal you can choose any one of these.

Hello student ,
I will suggest you to go for IEM as it offers most of its students the basic placement of 3.5–4 lpa but with your good knowledge in your field you will able to secure packages upto 6 lpa . The highest package this year was 40 lpa in IEM . Also many companies offered placements in the range of 5–8 lpa. Fee companies came with a package of 11 lpa. But then again there was no microsoft or amazon. So th ink about campus ,placements ,tution fees, cost of living and obviously placements and then make your choice .
Hope it helps !
BIBS will give you regular full time MBA degree affiliated to Vidyasagar University, a NAAC accredited, approved by UGC, ministry of HRD, Government of India. The best part of this business school is they are not only care about the student’s educational growth but also very much active and conscious about their moral development. their vision is a society where the youth is self-sufficient, confident and always eager to learn. BIBS is not just teach their students the art of management, but also imbibe the art to learning for life.
Most importantly, Bengal Institute of Business Studies is well known for their established placement background. In a very systematic way BIBS maintain the steps, Placement evaluation test then, Pre Placement Talk, Summer Placement and finally Final Placement. They have three tier placement process, Local Network, National Presence & International Reach. So, I believe the best choice will be BIBS always if it is a concern of good education & placement both.
Hey!
See, the infrastructure facilities are good in both colleges, IEM kolkata and SMVDU jammu and kashmir, but on the basis of placement records, you must choose IEM as it has good placement record with an average salary package of 4-5 LPA.
But as you mentioned that you want to prepare for GATE exam in CS, then there is no point of choosing electrical engineering (EE), anyway you can go for ECE as it includes some topics of software part which would be helpful for your GATE preparation.
And if you want to give 100% for your CS GATE preparation, then you must go for undergraduate degree in CSE in any other top college (private or government) in which you are getting CSE.
Hope I answered your query.
Thankyou
