Go through the following steps -
Step 1: The first thing you want to plan are the types of services you’ll offer. As an interior designer, you want to make sure you’re not taking on more than you can handle.
Step 2: You should focus on your style & specialty. If you specialize in mid-century modern style or rustic style or traditional style, that is what you should focus on. Find your niche, find your style, and you’ll attract the right kinds of people.
Step 3: You need to come up with a name for your business. It needs to be catchy, and it needs to reflect your work.
Step 4: You need a website that matches your career. If you don’t have experience building a website, you can hire someone to do the job. It depends upon you.
Step 5: Be ready to fix your rates. Ask your interior designer friends/colleagues. How much do other designers in your area charge? Which art is popular nowadays?
Step 6: You’ll have to promote your website and services, and you need to be active socially.
Step 7: At last one of the smartest things you can do when you start an interior design business is to build good relationships with suppliers and contractors. You want to have connections with reliable people who will deliver exactly what you ask for, on time, every time.
Hope it helps.

National Institute of Design (NID) conducts the Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Preliminary and Mains for providing admissions in various Undergraduate and Post-graduate courses in the field of design. While, some other colleges also provide admission on the basis of merit, that is, on the basis of marks obtained in the last qualifying examination.
Basic eligibility: Students must pass 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum of 50% in class 12th board or equivalent level examination from any recognized board/institute.
It depends on you, which college or institute you want to study the course in, as different colleges have different criteria.
