Interior Design
Dear Aspirant,
You can complete graduation i.e. b.tech in civil engineering and then you can pursue interior design courses. Otherwise, you can drop yourself from the engineering college and enroll yourself in interior design courses.
However, if you leave the b.tech Midway, then you will loose precious time that you had given to it for almost 2 years. There is no problem if you pick the second choice and want to directly dive into interior designing. Both choices will lead you to your goal, the only difference being is that the former option will allow you to have an extra degree and placement opportunities in engineering college, while the latter option will allow you to immediately start learning interior designing. Suit yourself. Pick the option which appeals you more.
If you really wanna start interior designing and don't want to waste any more time, then the second option is the preferable one.
Good luck in whatever choices that you make. Remember your aim and build your career accordingly. That way you will know which path to follow. All the best.
Pursuing a professional certification or Masters degree is always suggested if you want to change fields from Engineering. It helps in increasing scope and career opportunities. There are many good schools in our country for Interior Design as well as School of Designs in many Top IITs like Guwahati and Bombay.

Dear Sharani ,
All India Entrance Examination for Design (AIEED) is an exam conducted for admission to undergraduate exams for designing courses including and admission to B.Sc Interior Design program is through both entrance examination and merit-based. Certain universities offer both direct admission and entrance based admission to the program. However, few Universities require Candidates to have given any of the applicable Entrance Exams for B.Sc Interior Design. So it will mostly depends upon which college you will take admission but you have to fulfil the minimum eligibity criteria you must must be passed out successfully from his/her (10+2) Secondary and Higher Education with at least 50% marks of subjects course.
Hope it will helpful
Thanks
Hi Aspirant,
I understand that you are interested in pursuing your studies in the domain of interior designing but somehow have to pursue BMs for your under graduation and so to answer your question, if you feel that you do not have any interest in pursuing anything except for interior designing then anything that you do for your under graduation will be a significant waste of time. But since you suggested that you are completely interested in pursuing your studies in Interior Designing then I would advise you to enrol yourself for an under graduation course in the domain of Interior Designing only.
BEST WISHES!
